Genuine issue F1This one finally scratched the itch. The CCE pattern is so close to US Woodland that at a glance you'd swear it was the same thing, but up close the shapes are a little different and that's the whole charm. Mine came with a 2010 manufacture date and it's the double-layer variant without the havelock, which is actually the later production run so it's period-correct for a modern kit. The rounded brim is stiffer than I expected out of the box, which is a good thing honestly. I've got a '99 single-layer with the neck flap and this one feels noticeably more substantial. If you're on the fence between this and the Hessen Surplus listing, they're the same NSN stock so just grab whichever is cheaper. 100% cotton breathes great in the summer too.

Authentic CCE goodness - better than the ASMC versionFinally got my hands on a true French Army F1 in 3XL and man, this thing is legit. Mine's dated 2012, double-layer construction (pro tip: check if yours has the havelock or not - the older '99 models with neck flaps are single layer). The CCE pattern is basically French woodland and it's gorgeous in person...way more vibrant than the pics show. Sizing is definitely European so order up - I'm a 7 3/4 and the 3XL fits perfect with a little room. Compared to the ASMC import I had before, the Keep Shooting one came cleaner and the cotton feels more substantial. Vive la France!

Best woodland camo hat for cheap.I love the French CCE pattern because it looks like a cooler version of US woodland. The hat is 100% cotton so it stays pretty cool even when I am out in the sun all day. It fits my head perfectly and the brim is just the right size to keep the sun out of my eyes.
