French CCE Field Cap
This is the French Army field cap in CCE camouflage, a short-brimmed cotton cap with a long flap at the back that shades the neck and ears from sun. It was issued to French troops as working headwear for the field. Today it suits collectors of French kit, reenactors building a CCE-era loadout, and anyone who wants sun cover outdoors.

- Cotton Herringbone Twill — The cotton cloth is woven in a herringbone twill, a zigzag pattern you can see up close that gives the fabric a firm, durable hand.
- Split Neck Flap — A cloth flap hangs from the back of the crown and divides into two tails, covering the neck and the sides of the head.
- Stitched Short Brim — Rows of concentric stitching stiffen the brim so it keeps its shape while staying soft enough to pack.

Issued French Kit
CCE was the standard camouflage of French forces, and this cap was made to match the uniforms printed in it. not for giant headsJust a reminder Europeans are a tiny people in general. Like Frodo from the Shire. I bought two of the XL size. Weellllll, they are marked 60 (whatever that means), and they were around a size seven in Merican. Way to small for me, but my 8 year old grandson loved them. Other than the size they are great!
