    It was made for Austria forces but the handle and guard of knife looks too thin for heavy use. As a civilian outdoor worker who works in field I use knife like that on heavy use and it is very durable, sturdy with thick plastic handle, it is very cheap and you can not find that for money. Glock blade seems little thinner and weaker, still I love the knife and using as well as giving it to young family members.

    This knife has impressed me from the first time I took it out. The only thing that I would suggest is sharpening the blade a bit. I sharpen my knives every 6 months or so and have done that with this knife.

    One of my favorit things about the Glock 81 Field Knife are its three value statements. Value Statement 1: I can carry it all the time with me and it is extremely lightweight and has great ergonomics and value to it (its comfortable, feels good in the palm of my hands, easy to pull out of the sheath with one hand with little resistance). Value Statement 2: its dirt cheap, even if it did break I would have gotten 2 or 3 more out of it (Note: I haven't put this knife through its paces yet but it feels like a good candidate for hardcore use, if it doesn't cut it, I'll buy another one or two). Value Statement 3: Its 100% an EDC (Everyday Carry Knife). I don't use this knife everyday but I do pull it out everyday (even when I'm in the US) for tasks like cutting up fruit or cheese or paper and even sometimes on some pretty sturdy materials. And that being said, its been running the last two days in 95 degree + temperatures here in Guatemala with absolutely no issues. It doesn't stain, or leave any sort of grime on the blade. It looks and functions like brand new. Pros: Lightweight, Comfortable in the palm of your hand for multiple tasks, Decent ergonomics (blade angles to the handle and isn't sharp up near the top), Good sheath that's worth mentioning Cons: Its super dull, so unless you buy another one of these to go with it, or take a while sharpening this one, it might limit some of the usability and flexibility. You may want to sharpen this before you get to know it well because if its not very sharp it limits the number of things you can do with it, even if its sharp its going to wear quickly with multiple tasks. I can understand not having the sharpest blade right out of the box, especially if it saves some money, but I do feel it is slightly under-whelming and it limits how often you can deploy it in your toolkit of weapons. I'm just a college kid
