GLOCK 81 Field Knife - Battle Field Green

Well made, light, and sharp out of the box. If your considering this knife do it, it's worth it.

Knife's sheath is horrible! Horrible !

It was made for Austria forces but the handle and guard of knife looks too thin for heavy use. As a civilian outdoor worker who works in field I use knife like that on heavy use and it is very durable, sturdy with thick plastic handle, it is very cheap and you can not find that for money. Glock blade seems little thinner and weaker, still I love the knife and using as well as giving it to young family members.

This knife has impressed me from the first time I took it out. The only thing that I would suggest is sharpening the blade a bit. I sharpen my knives every 6 months or so and have done that with this knife.

One of my favorit things about the Glock 81 Field Knife are its three value statements. Value Statement 1: I can carry it all the time with me and it is extremely lightweight and has great ergonomics and value to it (its comfortable, feels good in the palm of my hands, easy to pull out of the sheath with one hand with little resistance). Value Statement 2: its dirt cheap, even if it did break I would have gotten 2 or 3 more out of it (Note: I haven't put this knife through its paces yet but it feels like a good candidate for hardcore use, if it doesn't cut it, I'll buy another one or two). Value Statement 3: Its 100% an EDC (Everyday Carry Knife). I don't use this knife everyday but I do pull it out everyday (even when I'm in the US) for tasks like cutting up fruit or cheese or paper and even sometimes on some pretty sturdy materials. And that being said, its been running the last two days in 95 degree + temperatures here in Guatemala with absolutely no issues. It doesn't stain, or leave any sort of grime on the blade. It looks and functions like brand new. Pros: Lightweight, Comfortable in the palm of your hand for multiple tasks, Decent ergonomics (blade angles to the handle and isn't sharp up near the top), Good sheath that's worth mentioning Cons: Its super dull, so unless you buy another one of these to go with it, or take a while sharpening this one, it might limit some of the usability and flexibility. You may want to sharpen this before you get to know it well because if its not very sharp it limits the number of things you can do with it, even if its sharp its going to wear quickly with multiple tasks. I can understand not having the sharpest blade right out of the box, especially if it saves some money, but I do feel it is slightly under-whelming and it limits how often you can deploy it in your toolkit of weapons. I'm just a college kid

Exactly what you expect from Glock. Quality made. Well thought out, durable, can't go wrong with it. Love the design, feels great in the hand. Clip is good for any pack or gear. Sharp out of the box. Great addition to any camping or survival pack. It's made to last and is an excellent piece of gear. It is on the heavy side, not for super quick deployment. I like the solid feel though.

The value here is undeniable. A solid piece of steel with nice details, finished off with Glocks own nano-p lubricant. It feels good in the hand and even if the edge is quite basic, it’s possible to sharpen this knife to a useful degree. I can’t think of a knife in this price range that compares. The lock system is effective, and although the saw teeth look pretty much worthless for real work, they are sharp and would be a great way to start the cut, especially with its tough 1050 high carbon blade steel. A great value for a backup, light carry, and collector. Just get some knife sheaths if you don’t already have them, as it doesn’t come with one. Overall a solid blade for the dollar. One star taken off because mine was already partially sharpened. Different edge angles. No harm done but it took away from what I wanted which was to put my own personal mark on it. I feel it will affect my long term opinion and reliability on it. However it’s such a great blade and a steal for the money. I would highly recommend

This knife is awesome. A little on the pricey side, but the reviews seemed spot on. It is sharp out of the box, although you will want to get the edges dressed up with a fine stone. Very lightweight, the sheath feels very sturdy. This is definitely not a tactical survival combat machete blade...this is a lightweight, practical, backpacking knife that will not fail. Perfectly designed, well made. If you need something to cut through steel in the wilderness, get a tomahawk or axe. But if you need something you can slip into your hiking backpack, you could do much worse than this knife. I think you will be very happy with it.

I have owned this Glock Field Knife for over 10 years and it has held up very well. It's a great all around utility knife and can be used in many different situations. The sheath holds the knife securely and allows you to wear it on your belt or attach it to your pack.

I love this knife! It's a little smaller than expected but still great for camping and other outdoor activities.

This is my first Glock product and I am very impressed! The knife is very sharp out of the box and the sheath holds it in place perfectly.

This is my second Glock knife. I bought one of these when they first came out and it has held up well over time. The sheath works great as well. I recently bought another one to replace the original because I lost track of where it was.

I have been using this as my primary camping/hiking knife for about 6 months now and it has held up great! It is sharp enough to shave with but not so sharp you can't handle it safely. The blade has a nice heft to it and the handle fits comfortably in your hand. The sheath holds it securely without any movement.
