Good News Bible

Good News Bible, GNT

This is the Good News Bible in the Good News Translation (GNT), a modern English version written in plain, everyday language. It suits readers who find older translations hard going, along with anyone who wants a straightforward text for personal reading, study or devotion. This edition also carries the Deuterocanonicals/Apocrypha, so it covers the wider Old Testament canon used by Catholic and Orthodox readers.

Features

• Good News Translation (GNT) — The text renders the meaning of each passage in natural, current English instead of following the original word order line by line.
• Deuterocanonicals/Apocrypha Included — Books such as Tobit, Judith and the Maccabees, which appear in Catholic and Orthodox Bibles but are left out of many Protestant editions, are part of this volume.
• Old And New Testaments — The complete Bible is here in one book, with no need for a separate volume for either testament.
• Navy Blue Cover — A plain, dark blue cover keeps the book understated for carrying in a bag or keeping on a shelf.
• Gold Foil Stamping — The title, open-book emblem and GNT mark are stamped in gold on the front cover.
• Accessible Reading Level — The translation was written so first-time readers and people reading English as a second language can follow it without a commentary.
• ISBN 9781585161577 — The listed ISBN lets you confirm this is the exact edition you want before ordering.

About The Translation

The Good News Translation comes from the American Bible Society and was produced to make scripture readable for a broad audience. Instead of a strict word-for-word rendering, it translates thought for thought, which makes long narrative and poetic passages easier to follow in one sitting. Including the Deuterocanonical books makes this edition a sensible choice for readers whose tradition recognizes them, or for anyone who wants the full range of texts in a single volume.
