For centuries people have been wearing wool clothing to keep warm and covered when the weather turns cold and wet. Wool is one of the first recognized natural fibers that offers protection from the cold even when it becomes wet. With this long history and proven properties, even today with all of the modern synthetic fabrics many still choose wool and wool blend clothing to stay warm and comfortable in the winter.
The Italian Army makes use of wool in this wool blend shirt. With the primary duties of this shirt being to provide a warm under layer under soldiers uniforms, the Italian Army has increased the comfort of this shirt by blending the wool with cotton. This blended wool greatly reduces the itch factor that some experience when wearing wool clothing and makes these shirts more soft on the skin. The wool content is still high enough to be able to enjoy the weather resistance that wool provides and each shirt has a look and feel that goes with any civilian clothes as a top layer.

A fantastic lightweight base layer. Like others have said, the size was a bit small. Will definitely be buying some more.
These make the best "base" layer when dressing for cold. First, it is wool blend which gives a snug, warm layer even if it gets wet. Second, it is long sleeved which keeps your arms warm and also helps keep out any wind. Third, it is well priced. I have a slim build and a large fit me fine.
This is probably the best deal on this site. A bit itchy and thinner than the GI version, but they are warm. I bought several.
Nice quality log sleeve, snug on me so time for morePT. Air dry at launder so to keep shrinkage down . Breathable weave and warm . Great under layer to start
Based on other reviews I ordered a large, and I'm glad I did. I usually wear a medium and I like close fitting garments and this fits like a snug medium. If you want a snug fit order one size up and a looser fit try two sizes up.
It fits and feels like a nice long john shirt. It's warm, thin, and snug fitting. The wool Cotten blend is thin but dense feeling. I'll be wearing this as cool to cold weather active wear while cycling.
I bought 3 shirts and I'm glad I did! Highly recommended! High quality, dirt cheap, and I expect the wool cotton blend to outlast a synthetic shirt, and it should breath better and not get that "wicking shirt stink". You know what I'm talking about.
These shirts are comfortable and warm. Since the have a high wool content I just air them out and wash then wash them after 3 or 4 days of use. The shirts breath so they are comfortable to wear working inside as well as out doors. Like them so much I ordered several more.
What I received is a large, and I do believe a "large" Italian would fit it to be a good fit. It's just that I am (sadly) not an Italian man, meaning, I am characterized as large not because of my stature, but because of a gut. Along with some super Belgian pants I bought, I now have ample reason to trim down so that this and my other high-value purchases will fit well. Right now, the shirt fits like a "muscle" shirt.
These shirts are advertised as being a wool and cotton blend, but I believe they are mostly wool (which is great!). When taking this into consideration, these are an amazing value, as wool shirts are typically $50+.
The only drawback to these shirts is that they run very small. As such, I'd recommend ordering at least one size larger than normal. The XL fit me like a trim fit large. Wool stretches though, and when I washed mine, I stretched them and hung them to dry. It fit much better, and stretched even more as I wore it.
Highly recommended as a base layer. I don't think it's suitable as an outer later, because it's more like a long John top.
I just received these and they appear very nice BUT boy are they small. I ordered XL which is what I normally get since I like things loose (could wear L) and these are skin tight. Fit like a compression shirt which makes them look terrible. So much for wearing as an outer garment. Still will work as first layer for cold weather.
Shirt sizes run a little small, but seem to stretch with use. A little tight at first wears into perfect comfort after wearing a few times. I'm 6' 210 lbs average build and was surprised how tight the shirts I ordered fit (one large, one X-large) around the chest. X-large is longer and would be better for tall folks, but about the same in the chest as the large. They stretch a bit and become very comfortable.
