K98 Sight Hood
The K98 Sight Hood is a reproduction front sight hood for the German Karabiner 98k Mauser, manufactured from heavy spring steel and finished in traditional blued black. Identical in pattern to the hoods fitted to the K98k, MP44, and G43, it slips over the dovetailed front sight base to protect the inverted-V post from knocks, brush, and glare while preserving the rifle's correct military silhouette. A direct fit for restorations, Russian-capture rebuilds missing their original hood, and shooter-grade Mausers. Perfect Fit on My Matching Numbers K98Been collecting and shooting K98s for about 15 years now and i know what a correct sight hood should look and feel like. Best cheap upgrade for a Mauser.This is a great reproduction for anyone who has a rifle missing the hood. It feels really solid and the spring tension is exactly what it should be. It definitely makes the front sight look a lot better and protects it from getting bumped at the range.

An absolute must haveIf you own a Russian capture K98 and you want it to look historically accurate then this sight hood is one of the first things you should buy. It is one of the most affordable restoration parts available and makes an immediate difference in the overall appearance of the rifle. I installed mine in about five seconds with no tools needed and it sits exactly where it should protecting the front sight post. The spring steel holds it firmly in place and I have no concerns about it falling off during handling or shooting. Such a small part but it really completes the look.
