Decent budget MA-1, not Alpha quality but close enoughI've owned a genuine Alpha Industries MA-1 for years and wanted a spare in gun metal grey for range days and casual wear. This Rothco-made version is honestly pretty close to the real deal at half the price. The nylon shell has that classic crinkle/swish sound everyone complains about but honestly that's authentic to the MA-1 look the originals were noisy too. The reversible orange lining is a nice touch, though the poly fill isn't quite as dense as my Alpha. Fit is where it gets tricky: I'm 5'10", 190lbs with a 44" chest and the XL fits good in the shoulders but is a little roomy in the waist (which is authentic for the MA-1 cut tbh). If you're between sizes, go up one. The brass zippers and leather pulls feel solid enough but definitely not as premium as the higher-end stuff. For $55 it's a steal, just don't expect Alpha Industries heirloom quality.
