AR-15 Armorer's Wrench
The Magpul Armorers Wrench is a single steel tool for the main threaded parts of an AR-15, M16 or M4 build. It handles the barrel nut, the castle nut and the flash hider, so one wrench covers most of what you remove or install when you change a barrel, stock or muzzle device. Home builders and anyone who maintains their own rifles can keep it on the bench in place of a drawer of separate tools.
Features
- Dual Barrel Nut Head — The open end has gear teeth on one face and pins on the other, so it engages both standard-tooth and pin-style barrel nuts, the large nut that clamps the barrel to the upper receiver.
- Castle Nut Wrench — The ring at the opposite end has lugs that fit the notched castle nut, which locks the buffer tube and stock to the lower receiver.
- Flash Hider Opening — A flat-sided cutout in the handle fits standard-sized flash hiders for removal and installation.
- Square Torque Wrench Opening — A square hole near the barrel nut head accepts a torque wrench drive, so you can tighten parts to a measured value.
- Printed Torque Values — The handle lists barrel nut torque at 30-80 ft/lb, castle nut at 40 ft/lb and flash hider at 30 ft/lb, right where you need them.
- Heat-Treated Steel — The body is steel, heat treated to resist bending and wear under the force barrel work demands.
- Manganese Phosphate Finish — A dark matte coating protects the steel against corrosion on the bench and in a range bag.
- Integrated Bottle Opener — A built-in opener adds a non-gunsmithing use to the same tool.
- 11.70-Inch Length — The handle gives enough leverage to break loose a tight barrel nut without needing a cheater bar.
Build And Fit
Magpul makes this wrench in the USA from heat-treated steel with a manganese phosphate finish, and the country of origin is marked on the handle. It is sized for the AR-15/M16 and M4 pattern, covering standard and pin-style barrel nuts, the castle nut and standard flash hiders. At 11.70 inches (29.7 cm) overall it fits in most range bags and toolboxes.

One tool to rule them all, literallyThis is the only armorer's wrench I've ever needed. The Magpul Armorer's Wrench does everything USGI barrel nut, free-float barrel nut, castle nut, receiver extension, flash hider, muzzle brake, and it even has two hammer faces for tapping pins and detents. All in one solid chunk of American steel. The phosphate finish gives you a grip that dosent slip even when your hands are sweaty or oily from working on guns. The 1/2 inch torque wrench interface means you can hook it up to a proper torque wrench and dial in the exact spec instead of guessing. The USGI torque specs are printed right on the wrench so you dont have to dig through a manual or scroll through a forum thread. Built in the USA which matters to me. The integrated bottle opener is a nice touch too finish your upper build, crack a cold one, celebrate. This wrench has paid for itself 10 times over.

Good but priceyUseful tool! This tool is a bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for. It is heavy duty and well made. I think it will be around for a long while.
