Mira Safety MD-1 Child Gas Mask

Bought this mask as a gift for my wife. It’s one of the masks on our bug out bag, and this one is one of the nicest we have ever seen. She loves it. I have been thinking of ordering a second one. This one was for her because she’s a girl and I’m an alpha provider.

I also use these while shooting in and around lead-contaminated buildings (ie - the range) so I can get the gunk off and not ingest anything. They make gas masks and radiation masks, but these MIRG's (which means "Mini Individual Respiratory Mask Group") have it all: High levels of radiation, nuclear contamination, biological weapons, chemicals, you name it. So, if things were getting that bad, hopefully I'll be ok. I live in Alaska and have read that the best way to prepare for radiation is to take large doses of iodine. Hopefully I'll never need to test it out.

Excellent price for the highest grade MIL-M-4040J military specification gas mask filter canisters. MOS-27A canisters are far superior than CX-54 canisters. Excellent quality sealed in bags. These were brand new. If you’re looking for a gas mask, don’t be cheap and look at 3M Military CX-54 canisters, they are garbage. A CX-54 filters the oxygen to a lower purity level than a standard paint filter. The price is for 2, a bit pricey, but if one of them were to fail due to storage conditions that is a price I’m willing to pay to not have to get in my emergency situation, not knowing what the air quality is and potentially running out of air. If you are an prepper and don’t have one yet, this is a great place to start!

Very well put together, no defects. The sealing mechanism feels a little strange but there's no reason to doubt it. It's a little bulky, I was thinking that a mask as bulky as this could easily get hung up in branches or the foliage of a natural barrier while out in the bush and cause problems. I'm just worried it will make things difficult to use while crawling or crouching, but hopefully I won't need to find out. I'm confident it will keep us safe in an emergency but only time will tell.

I don't like "bubble packaging" that so often these days. That is why I ordered the MIRAT PERF 42mm CS CQB gas mask. This is made in the Ukraine, it comes with good threads and it has threads on the nosepiece that make a decent fog and tear shield, that will come with good advice from youtbe, on masking. Also it comes with some tape, a good thing as it's important that these rubber components get taped and not in the same enclosure with each other. That being said the filter will sit at an angle if you are not gentle. You will need an adapter to put on a cartridge. The mask I recieved has two things that will help some people in securing a very tight face piece on themselves: you can slide up and down on a tiny rail and the securing ring that can adjust from a little tighter to snug and even looser can really hold the unit tightly. It won't budge on my face even when climbing a ladder with it on my face and tight. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean that if you try to ride a roller coaster, that the filter won't get loose, it's more likely the body suit you're wearing will rip before the securing ring will. That goes with ANY gas mask! This one just holds tighter and more tightly than most and that means that there is more space in the box for your oxygen tank. A true value!

I bought this for when nuclear war with N. Korea breaks out, I have the perfect equipment. It fits very well, with the two straps on the back. Easy to adjust and easy to use. Will be ordering a backup soon. Highly recommend

Just got my package, delivered promptly. Quality is as described, brand new MSA. Package contained mask, instructions, valve cover, clear vinyl storage pouch and cloth. Great value for this quality item. Would recommend. You may want to pick up some of the 40mm chemical light covers to give your mask a customized look. I have some older CBRN filters that I can’t use with this particular model. They do not fit, as these MIRA models use an adapter that is about the size of a box of cigarettes, unlike the filters for the older M-17/18 model that used larger screw on connectors that can be disassembled. These new models have the flange around the opening to fit the adapter, which allows them to use the newer US mil-spec filter or CBRN. Also a plus is the quick connect bayonet thread for adding other filtration devices, as long as they use the same threads. Mask itself is of very high quality and looks to be well constructed. All threads and snaps are still secure and all rubber seals look to be new and untouched. Can’t wait to try it out! Hopefully never, but I am prepared if need be! Cheers! Biden

The quality of this safety mask is high and that’s exactly what I expected, but there was no indication on your website that there would be a 2 week delay on receiving the order. I thought your business and reputation would indicate a higher standard of service. My opinion is, the delay could have waited till I received the mask. Your response to me, a simple human and your customer did not justify a $2.00 stamp for the delivery. In the meantime there are news articles daily about a emergency or pandemic in the U.S. That can delay delivery of safety equipment. I hope I never need this product, I do have it in case of a emergency and can now recommend your company and or your gas mask product to my loved ones and family, just not on this particular experience, not for the additional delay on delivery and my disappointment. I like this MIRA. I’ve always liked the Swiss military equipment. A real winner. The olive drab one doesn’t show dirt or oil, which I don’t like as much. But I’m very pleased with the 7 year life replacement for my unit.

Exactly as described. Looks exactly like in the photo. The description of item states, "In a emergency situation, CBRN mask filters the air of chemical and/or biological agents, so that the body is protected from these dangerous substances." This is exactly what it is for, for that emergency scenario. In reality, not all of us have a emergency CBRN mask laying around in our house or workshop.

I was skeptical of this but I read up on this company and found that they were certified and that the company and the products were made in Slovenia and so I gave it a shot. This was one of the best kits I have ever bought, no malfunctions in anything, perfect packaging, quality products and all at a fair price.

Just got mine a few minutes ago and it looks great ! Thanks to KeepShooting the MIRA-G3 NEROS is here. This unit is the civilian variant to MIRA's G3 line, this one doesn't have CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) filters included, but comes with a solid rubber nose clip for those people who have smaller noses and can't use the lanyard attached to this one. This lanyard, I have no clue how to operate it and I have looked all over YouTube, just don't know how to use it...

It was worth the wait for delivery...the design of this gas mask looks amazing, a lot of quality features like valves that make easy and faster adjustments and the protective cover in which the CBRN filter sits and is attached is nice and smooth, i hope i never need to use this for its designated purpose but this canister is definitely built to last a lifetime! very good company! I have 2-3 different ones and i have never used them. Got 1 recently that is inoperable, but these masks are extremely good. CAN HELP TO HAVE MULTIPLE, BUT IF YOU NEED TO USE, YOU WILL NOT WISH YOU HAD LESS. Great durability, has seen 3 different drops from helicopters to the ground, never damaged. MULTI PURPOSE is probably the biggest trait. Protects your eyes and mouth, AND THE DUCTING TO CLEAN THE AIR AND NOT ALLOW YOU TO BREATH IN EVERY AIR POLLUTANT. Comes with "clean Air filters" and 2 extra ones, it seems.

If I was stranded on a coast, and I knew I was getting some bad air, I would definitely use this and have the kit on hand. I am not afraid to face down any bad wind or political forces! You can tell from some other sources that they have a slightly lower opinion of their product. It seems like you could even try to find the lower level gases with this if need be, but there are other sources of filters. (At time of comment) 7/1/18 MISSION PURPOSE: TO RECEIVE THE GAS MASK PRODUCT. I PURCHASED A 25 LB BLACK POLY DRUM TO PUT THESE INTO IF NEEDED (THE GAS MASKS WILL NOT GO INSIDE THE DRUM). I WILL ALSO PUT SOME OTHER ITEMS IN THE DRUM TOO, LIKE A COUPLE BINOCULARS AND A FEW OTHER TOOLS, FOR A SAFE AND COMPLETE KIT. THE DRUM WILL BE LOCATED NEAR BY IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. IN THE CASE OF AN OFFICIAL EVACUATION, THIS DRUM WILL HAVE THE NAME OF THE PERSON THAT WILL BE DRIVING IT ON THE SIDE OF THE DRUM, AND THEY WILL NOT OPEN THE DRUM IF THEY ARE DRIVING. If we were on friendly terms, Russia, I would gladly purchase a lot more. I don't believe that the amount of spare filters that are sent along with the purchase is excessive. If you order one of these, then buy two, because once you try one you will need another for the second unit to make it a set.
