Just like the originalsAs a Vietnam War collector and reenactor, I've handled plenty of original 1960s-70s boonies and this one nails the look. The rip-stop cotton has that classic OD shadd not too green, not too brown. The metal mesh vents are period correct (unlike some cheaper repros with plastic), and the branch loops are functional for adding foliage if you're going full LRRP. I compared this side-by-side with my Rothco and honestly the construction is nearly identical screened vents, same 3" brim width, same nylon chin cord. Mine arrived with a slight factory smell but aired out overnight. Stitching is solid, no loose threads. If you're building an impression or just want that vintage aesthetic, this hits the mark without breaking the bank.

Best budget boonie on the marketI've owned several boonie hats over the years and this one punches well above its price point. Wore it during a 3-day hiking trip in direct sun and my neck and face stayed protected the whole time. The loops around the brim are a nice touch for adding foliage during MilSim ops. Will be buying a second one as a backup.

Best boonie hat for the price.This hat is way better than the cheap ones you find at big box stores. The chin strap is really helpful for keeping it on my head when it gets windy on the trail. It is super comfortable and fits exactly how I expected it to.
