Wet Weather Boonie
Mil-Tec builds this boonie hat in the classic U.S. GI shape: a wide brim for sun, a soft crown, and a chin strap that keeps it on in wind. The difference from a standard cotton boonie is the tri-laminate fabric, which keeps rain off without making the hat heavy. It comes printed in Phantomleaf WASP Z1B camouflage, a pattern intended for dry, rocky ground with little vegetation. It suits hunters, hikers and anyone working outdoors in mixed weather.

- Tri-Laminate Fabric — Three bonded layers, a nylon outer shell, a polyester membrane and a polyester lining, resist water while staying light.
- Phantomleaf WASP Z1B Camo — Greens, browns, tans, greys and off-white break up your outline against rocky desert and sparse mountain terrain, including ground with patchy snow.
- Wide Stitched Brim — Rows of stitching around the brim help it keep its shape so it shades your face, ears and neck.
- Foliage Loop Band — A band sewn around the crown at intervals creates loops where you can tuck grass or twigs for extra concealment.
- Screened Side Vents — A pair of grommeted vents on each side, backed with fine mesh, let heat escape and keep insects out.
- Adjustable Chin Strap — A cord strap with a sliding cord lock cinches under the chin or behind the head so the hat stays put in wind.
- GI Boonie Pattern — The cut follows the familiar U.S. military boonie hat, so it packs flat and rolls into a pocket or pack lid.
- Five Sizes — Offered in Small through XX-Large for a proper fit instead of a one-size compromise.
Tri-Laminate Build
This is a commercial hat from Mil-Tec's CIV-TEC line for the civilian market, not issued military kit, and the CIV-TEC and Phantomleaf marks are printed on the crown band. The outer layer is 100% nylon, the middle is a polyester membrane, and the inner lining is 100% polyester. That combination gives better rain protection than a cotton-blend boonie while staying light enough to wear all day. Phantomleaf is a three-zone camouflage system, and Z1B belongs to its Zone 1 range for arid conditions.

Waterproof boonie thats perfect for rainy huntsThis boonie hat is a game changer for wet weather outings honestly its built tough with that tri-laminate material keeps the rain off without making your head sweat like crazy. Mine arrived brand new in the package. Wore it on a soggy hunt last weekend the camo blended right into the woods and stayed dry through a downpour. For around 14 bucks its way better value than similar hats from REI or Cabelas that cost twice as much already planning to grab another for my kit.
