This United Defense magazine is a curved, box-style feeder built to the standard AR-15 pattern, in a glossy red finish you can see across a range bench. It suits shooters who want a spare magazine that stands apart from the black and tan ones already in their bag. That can mean color-coding loads, marking a training magazine, or just finding it quickly in the grass after a reload drill.

Build And Fit
The magazine is a single metal shell with ribbed sides, a light green follower and a floorplate closing off the base. It is made to the common AR-15 magazine pattern, the format most AR-15 rifles and carbines are built to accept. If you shoot a lower with a non-standard magazine well, check fit before relying on it.

Solid aluminum range magBought the red one so I dont mix it up with my black mags at the bench. Used it during a carbine class last month and it took a beating in the dirt and still fed every round. Spring feels strong and the mag catches clean on my lower.

Finally, color-coded mags that aren't junkBeen running AR mags for about 12 years now and i've tried everything from GI surplus to Magpul PMAGs and a bunch in between. Picked up a few of these red anodized aluminum mags from Keep Shooting mostly out of curiosity i wanted something to designate my 'hot' mags at 3-gun stages without slapping tape on everything. The anodize is legit uniform, no blotchy spots or thin coverage on the spine like i was half-expecting for the price point. Green anti-tilt follower is the right call, no complaints there. Locked in with a solid click on my BCM upper and two different lowers, dropped free clean every time. I did compare these side-by-side against some Redcon1 Tactical colored mags i already had (theirs are Cerakote over aluminum) and honestly the finish on the Keep Shooting ones held up just as well after a day at the range dragging them through the dirt. No flaking, no chips. Feed lips look properly formed — fed 150 rounds of Federal American Eagle 55gr without a single hiccup.

Sturdy buildI’ve been using the United Defense NATO‑Red mag on my AR‑15 for a couple of months now and it’s held up great. The anodized red really pops on the range, and the green anti‑tilt follower keeps rounds feeding smooth even after a hundred reloads.
It’s a nice upgrade from the plain black mags I had before.
