Rothco Canvas Tri-Fold Shovel Cover

Tri-Fold Shovel Cover

A folding shovel is awkward to carry loose: the blade edge snags on gear and the head rattles against everything near it. The Rothco Canvas Tri-Fold Shovel Cover holds a folded tri-fold shovel, the compact three-section entrenching tool that folds down to roughly the size of its own blade. The cover keeps the head contained and lets you hang it from a belt or pack. Campers, hunters, preppers and anyone who keeps a folding shovel in a vehicle kit will get use out of it.

Features

• Canvas Construction — The body is cut from a tightly woven canvas that gives the folded shovel blade a protective layer between it and the rest of your gear.
• Spade-Shaped Profile — The cover follows the pointed outline of a shovel blade, so the folded tool sits snugly instead of shifting around inside.
• Snap Flap Closure — A rounded top flap closes with a metal snap to keep the shovel from sliding out while you walk.
• Rear Wire Belt Clip — A metal wire clip on a webbing tab across the back hooks onto a belt or pack, in the style of traditional military field gear.
• Bound Edges — Woven binding tape is stitched around every edge, which reinforces the seams and keeps the canvas from fraying.
• Bottom Grommet — A metal grommet at the tip of the cover lets water drain out and gives you a point to tie the cover down.
• Olive Drab Color — The OD green finish, the standard muted green of US military field gear, matches most surplus and outdoor kit.
• Cover Only — This listing is for the carry cover, and the shovel itself is sold separately.

Build And Fit

Rothco sized this cover for tri-fold shovels, the folding design with a blade, a hinged neck and a collapsing handle. The canvas shell, bound edges and metal hardware are simple and easy to repair, the same approach used on older military shovel carriers. If you already own a tri-fold shovel without a case, or the original one has worn out, this cover replaces it.
