Ruger 96/44 Rotary Magazine
This is Ruger's own factory magazine for the 96/44 lever-action rifle, holding four rounds of .44 Remington Magnum. It also fits the Ruger .44 Carbine. Owners buy it as a spare for hunting season, to keep a second loaded magazine on hand, or to replace one that is lost or worn. It does not fit the Ruger 77/44, which takes a different magazine.
Features
- .44 Remington Magnum Caliber — Sized for .44 Magnum cartridges, the chambering of both the 96/44 and the .44 Carbine.
- 4-Round Capacity — Holds four cartridges, the standard factory capacity for this rifle.
- Rotary Feed Design — The cartridges sit around a spring-driven rotor that turns to present each round in turn, a system Ruger uses for smooth feeding in a compact body.
- Steel Feed Lips — The lips that hold the top round in place and guide it into the chamber are steel rather than plastic, so they keep their shape with repeated loading.
- Black Polymer Body — The precision-molded shell is light, resists dents, and matches the rifle's black finish.
- Pivoting Locking Lug — A lug at the rear of the magazine engages the rifle to hold the magazine securely in the receiver.
- Ribbed Release Area — Molded grooves on the rear housing give your fingertip purchase when removing the magazine.
- Factory Ruger Markings — The end cap is molded with "96/44" and the base carries the Ruger name and logo, so it is easy to identify among other magazines.
- Made In The USA — Manufactured by Ruger as an original-equipment part.
Fit and Construction
The magazine pairs a black polymer body and polymer follower with steel feed lips and a steel wire spring. A hex-head screw at the rotor end and a slotted pin near the top hold the assembly together. It fits the Ruger 96/44 lever-action and the Ruger .44 Carbine only. If you own a 77/44 bolt-action, this magazine will not work in it.
