SKS Cleaning Mat

The SKS TekMat is a bench mat for stripping, cleaning and reassembling the Simonov SKS carbine. It covers the bench so solvent and oil stay off it, and small springs and pins stay put instead of rolling away. A full exploded parts diagram is printed on the surface, so you can check where each part goes while the rifle is apart. SKS owners will get the most out of it, whether they strip the rifle often or only once a season.

• 7.62x39mm Round Specifications — A dimensioned cartridge drawing and table give case type, bullet, neck and shoulder diameters, case and overall length, rifling twist and maximum pressure.

• 1/8 Inch Thermoplastic Rubber — The thick rubber body cushions the rifle and finish against a hard bench and grips the work surface.
• Dye-Sublimation Print — The graphics are dyed into the surface instead of sitting on top, so they resist scratching, fading and gun oil.
• Water Resistant and Washable — Spills wipe off the surface, and the mat can go through the washing machine when it needs a deeper clean.

Size and Construction

The mat measures 12 x 36 inches and is 1/8 inch thick, made from thermoplastic rubber with white graphics on a black surface. TekMat, a brand of Beck Tek, builds it as a gun cleaning and armorer's bench mat, and the model number is TEKR36SKS. It also works as a reference sheet on the wall or under glass, but it was designed to lie flat on the bench under a disassembled rifle.
