Swedish Army Winter Hat
The Swedish Army has some of the best cold weather equipment of any national military force. With large parts of Northern Sweden being above the arctic circle, troops need to be able to operate in the most extreme cold weather environments. With the quality of the Swedish cold weather gear being military grade to support operations in the extreme north, you can count on cold weather gear like this winter hats to perform anywhere in America.
These Swedish Army Winter Hats are one of the best performing military hats of this type. The Swedish Army took the standard winter flap style hat and increased the performance by creating a quilted interior that has a polyester blend filler that acts as an insulator. To further make these hats out perform others of a similar design, the flaps and brow area of these hats are fleece lined for added comfort and warmth.
My go to winter hat when it's just plain crappy and miserable outside. The flaps and plush lining really make the hat and ensure nothing gets through.
Best hat on the market
I like these a lot better than the German ones BUT they've been out of 60 or 61 for a long time so the German had to do. I bought a 2nd one in 59 and it was too small but a friend of mine is really enjoying it. I'll be the first to buy a couple more if the larger sizes come back. These look great, fit well, and are very warm...what more can you ask for - especially at this price.
Nice winter hat
The hat I received was in good shape. Thought I had ordered a size 59 but received a size 58 instead. Fits a little tight and can't flip up the brow insulation. It seems to stretch a little with wear though. The Velcro strap closure is opposite to would be on a US hat, takes a little getting use to.
Bought 2 of these. They're brand new, warm and cheaper than dirt. I put one of my 5 year old, it keeps him warm and must be comfortable because he hates wearing hats. Couldn't be happier, wasn't expecting much.
Warmth without bulk!
The size '58' barely fits my head...however! The hat is quilted and warm beyond expectation! Has a forehead band than the size prevents me from using. As another reviewer said, this is a bit better than the German Flecturn offering though it fits my head better. This has smart looks and can be worn anywhere. Great buy!
Super warm value. Not for huge heads
Nice, thick hat with flap-down ear covers. I'm 6'4" with a big head so it was too small for me, but made a good gift for a friend with a smaller head. Nice olive color. Really really awesome value, these kinds of things for go for over 10x more at a local army navy store.
Two different styles
Got two of these one 56 the other 57. One was as pictured the other similar but seems a bit thinner with less fleece lining, a buckle/popper closure rather than Velcro and no brow fleece lining . Also appears to have been enlarged with the original buckle on the back removed and a non insulated strip of fabric sown in. While both comfortable, warm and in good used condition a lot happier with one than the other.
Warm, good coverage
Great condition warm winter hat woks well in wet weather too. Small brim but good head and neck coverage well made from our allies in the north
love that swedish stuff
It's personal, but I like these better than the German winter hat of similar design; I think it is the color, and the fit on my head. I managed to get one of the larger ones. These tend to run small- if they have been washed, there is usually a little shrinkage. A step up from watch caps for real winter use- better wind and glare protection.
I bought two. They look brand new. I have trouble finding extra large hats , but these fit great. The price is such that I can afford to buy extras for my emergency kits. .If you break down in Alaska in February even going to the store it can be a BIG hassle. .Nice to have stuff in the trunk.
