Swedish Cold-Weather Cap

This is the Swedish Armed Forces winter cap: a peaked field cap with deep pile ear flaps that fold up over the crown or drop down to cover the ears, cheeks and neck. On a mild cold day you wear it like a regular field cap. When the wind picks up, the flaps come down and fasten under the chin. It suits hunters, winter hikers, outdoor workers and collectors of Swedish issue gear.

• Three Crowns Issue Label — A sewn-in label carries the Swedish Tre Kronor mark, an M-number stock code, the contract year and the head size in centimeters.

Issue Label And Build

This cap was made for the Swedish military and carries the three crowns that mark official Swedish government property. The label pictured, stock number M 7346-255000-8, lists a 50% polyester, 50% cotton shell, 100% cotton lining, 100% polyester pile and 100% polyester padding. It was made under contract by Albert Kempf in Tunisia. Sizing is printed in centimeters of head circumference, so measure around your head just above the ears to choose a size.
