The Swiss Wool Overseas Cap is an all wool winter cap from the Swiss Armed Forces. Sometimes referred to as a garrison cap, this overseas cap is far more than just a common garrison cap. Should you like to call it a garrison cap, it would be the Transformers version of a garrison cap, as it can be unfolded to become a full winter hat complete with chin and neck protection.

Wth the Swiss Armed Forces responsible for patrol and protection in winter months and in Alpine heights, the gear used needs to be superior. This overseas cap is quite superior in that it is made from wool and is versatile enough to be made into a full winter hat when required. Many military forces use garrison caps that while covering the head provide no protection from the elements. The Swiss Armed Forces realized this was a perfect opportunity to make the very best garrison cap possible and they succeeded with this overseas cap.

    Folds flat, light weight, can keep ears warm too.

    FYI update------found that if you extend the peak as in winter hood mode, you in effect gain one size, from 59 to 60. Benefit, cap has more the appearance on a German field hat. Rather "cool" looking!

    Bought on a whim, price factor, good wool, know your metric hat size and get a versible cap that you can covert on the fly, look smart and Swiss quality. Am a size 7-3/4 US metric size 60,size 59avail, fit fine with a proper hair cut. Had a WW1 wool campaign hat as kid from a survivor in the family, itchy but didn't realize the history behind it ,affordable replacement Thanks!
