Olive Drab BDU Pants

These are Rothco's take on the BDU pant, short for Battle Dress Uniform, the six-pocket military cargo trouser cut. They suit field work, range days, training, hunting camp and general hard use, anywhere you need pockets that hold gear and fabric that holds up to kneeling. The olive drab colour, the muted green long used on US military gear, works for outdoor use and pairs with most surplus and tactical kit.

• 55/45 Cotton-Poly Blend — The 55% cotton and 45% polyester mix is comfortable against the skin, and the polyester adds strength and helps the pants keep their shape through repeated washing.
• Six Utility Pockets — You get two front slash pockets, two button-down back pockets and two side cargo pockets for storage spread around the leg and seat.
• Flapped Cargo Pockets — The thigh-mounted cargo pockets have covering flaps to keep gloves, a phone, maps or small tools in place while you move.
• Reinforced Seat And Knees — A second layer of fabric is stitched over the seat and knees, the areas that wear through first when you kneel, crawl or sit on rough ground.
• Button Fly Closure — The fly fastens with buttons rather than a zipper, following the traditional military trouser design.
• Adjustable Waist Tabs — Side tabs at the waistband let you cinch the fit by an inch or so, which helps if you sit between sizes or wear the pants over a base layer.
• Drawstring Ankle Ties — Cords at the hem let you close the leg around the ankle or over boot tops to keep out debris, insects and drafts.
• Straight Leg Cut — The leg opening runs straight so the pants sit cleanly over boots rather than bunching at the ankle.
• 32.5 Inch Standard Inseam — The inseam is about 32.5 in (83 cm), varying slightly from one size to the next.

Build And Fit

Rothco builds these to the classic BDU pattern, so the pocket layout and proportions match what military-cut trousers are known for. The cut is relaxed through the seat and thigh, giving room to squat and climb, and the waist has belt loops for a standard duty or rigger's belt. Because this is a cotton-poly blend rather than pure cotton, it dries faster and resists shrinking better than all-cotton trousers do.
