Classic UDT Training Short

The Tru-Spec UDT Shorts follow the short, belted cut associated with the US Navy's Underwater Demolition Teams, the frogmen who came before the SEALs. The style has stayed in use for PT, swimming, hot-weather training and casual summer wear because it is light, quick to adjust and stays out of the way when you move. Tru-Spec builds this version in a cotton and polyester blend with the trademark D-ring waist belt sewn in.

Features

• Poly-Cotton Blend Fabric — Cotton gives the shorts a comfortable hand against the skin, and polyester adds durability and helps them hold their shape through repeated washing.
• Integrated D-Ring Waist Belt — A fabric strap stitched into the waistband runs through a metal D-ring, so you can cinch the fit without a separate belt.
• Front Keeper Loops — Two loops at the front hold the tail of the waist strap flat once it is pulled tight.
• Front Fly Closure — A stitched placket covers the fly for a clean front and easy on and off.
• Rear Patch Pocket — A single square patch pocket on the back carries a key, card or small item.
• Short UDT Inseam — The legs finish well above the knee, the traditional frogman length that keeps fabric clear of the thighs when running or swimming.
• Hemmed Leg Openings — Turned and stitched hems at each leg resist fraying and keep a tidy edge.
• Embroidered TS Logo — A small tonal Tru-Spec logo is stitched near the left leg hem.

Build and Fit

These are commercial shorts from Tru-Spec, built to the classic UDT pattern rather than issued surplus. The khaki shown in the photographs is a plain, flat-woven poly-cotton with straight seams and a simple pocket layout. The D-ring belt gives you a range of waist adjustment within your size, so choose your usual waist measurement and fine-tune the fit with the strap.
