Upgrade from original but specs don't match pistolThe size and shape of the Volquartsen part are nearly an exact match for the original, with a better spring and better claw edge. The problem, however, is that the original is just a hair too long to get a good grip on the cartridge rim in my pistol. I discovered another extractor made by Lugus that has a slightly shorter length, and provides a perfect grip on the rim. This cured the failure to eject problem for me! Also, the brass now ejects uniformly to the right and down, just exactly where it should. I actually think the problem is that the extractor hole is drilled in the wrong place (out of spec) on many P22 pistols, and the Volquartsen part can't fix that.
