Wheeler Professional Digital Trigger Gauge

The Wheeler Professional Digital Trigger Gauge measures the force needed to break a trigger and shows it on a clear LCD in pounds and ounces or kilograms. Peak mode captures the break weight, live mode shows force as it builds, and the gauge records the number of pulls with their average, minimum and maximum. A yellow adapter on the hook lets it seat on triggers with a center safety blade, common on striker-fired pistols. The metal arm folds flat against the body, and a hard case with a foam insert is included. It suits gunsmiths, competitive shooters and owners who want an accurate, repeatable reading before and after trigger work.

Description

Measure Trigger Pull Weight

The Wheeler Professional Digital Trigger Gauge tells you how much force it takes to break a trigger, which is the number that matters when you are checking a factory trigger, tuning an aftermarket one, or confirming a carry gun is still where it should be. You hook the arm on the trigger, pull the gauge straight back, and read the result on the LCD in pounds and ounces or kilograms. It suits gunsmiths, competition shooters and anyone who wants a measured figure rather than a guess by feel.

Features

  • Digital LCD Readout — The screen shows pull weight in pounds and ounces at a glance, with secondary lines for stored readings.
  • Pound and Kilogram Units — A dedicated Units button switches between imperial and metric measurement.
  • Peak and Live Modes — Peak mode holds the highest force reached when the trigger breaks, while live mode shows force as it builds through the pull.
  • Pull Statistics — The gauge records the number of pulls along with their average, minimum and maximum, so you can judge how consistent a trigger is.
  • Safety Blade Trigger Adapter — A yellow insert on the hook lets it seat on triggers with a center safety blade, the small lever in the trigger face found on many striker-fired pistols.
  • Folding Measurement Arm — The metal rod hinges at the body and folds flat alongside the gauge for storage.
  • Five-Button Control Pad — Mode, Units, Enter, Delete and a central power button sit together under the screen, and Delete lets you drop a bad pull from the set.
  • Hard Storage Case — A hinged plastic case with a foam insert holds the gauge with its arm folded.

Build and Storage

The body is a black housing with a yellow face panel, shaped to sit in the hand while you pull rearward in line with the bore. The arm folds into the body when you are done, and the fitted case keeps the gauge protected in a range bag or on the bench alongside Wheeler's other gunsmithing tools.

I got this to double check trigger jobs I do on my pistols at home and its been great. Its really consistent which is all I care about. I like that it records the max and min pull during a session so I dont have to write stuff down. The soft touch buttons feel nice and it seems like itll hold up fine in my toolbox. My only tiny complaint is the instructions are kinda basic and dont tell you much about best technique for holding it, I had to watch a youtube video to get consistent results.

Records max and min pull weights automatically

Instruction manual could be more detailed

Picked this up after my cheap spring gauge started giving wild readings. Ran about 50 pulls on my AR and 1911, and it's repeatable within 0.1 lbs every time. Shipping was fast, came in 3 days. Only thing is the battery door feels a little flimsy but no issues yet.

    Very consistent readings
Easy to use right out of the box

Battery door could be more robust

I own both this and a standard spring-type gauge, and this one is far superior. It's much easier to read, and you can input multiple readings to get the high, low, and average values. I do wish it had a higher limit than 12# and that it listed every input separately, but those are minor issues I can overlook. Overall, it's well worth the money!
