A Proper Piece of WWI-Inspired BrutalityBeen collecting American Tomahawk Company stuff for a while now got the Vietnam Tactical Tomahawk, the MP Baton, and now this beast. The Trench Baton OD Green is exactly what it claims to be: a modern interpretation of the WWI trench clubs that soldiers used when things got ugly in the mud. The OD green powdercoat on the carbon steel head is applied evenly with no visible runs or thin spots, and the STN66 super tough nylon handle has a really satisfying sculpted texture that fills the hand nicely. At 25 ounces and 14 inches overall, the weight distribution feels intentionally front-heavy like it WANTS to swing. Compared it side by side with a Cold Steel shillelagh I have and honestly the build quality on the American Tomahawk is noticeably more refined, the finish is more consistent and the nylon handle feels more purpose-built. Only minor gripe is the lanyard cord that comes pre-installed feels kinda cheap for a $120+ piece, i replaced it with 550 paracord immediately. But that's a small thing on an otherwise outstanding impact tool.
