The Rothco Black GI Style Jungle Boot follows the pattern of the US military jungle boot: a smooth, polishable lower around the foot, a lighter fabric shaft above it, and a deep-lugged sole. It is a tall lace-up boot for field use, airsoft, training, work and everyday wear, and its all-black finish also suits uniform and duty dress. This is a commercial reproduction of the classic design, not issued surplus.

Features

• Jungle Boot Pattern — The layout copies the US military jungle boot, with a solid lower and a fabric upper that is lighter and breathes better than an all-leather shaft.
• Smooth Black Lower — The toe, vamp and heel counter are covered in a smooth black finish that takes polish for a clean uniform look.
• Fabric Shaft — Black woven fabric panels form the ankle and lower leg, stitched to the lower along overlapping seams.
• Webbing Reinforcement — Nylon webbing strips run down the back and sides of the shaft and wrap the top collar to stiffen the boot where it flexes most.
• Screened Instep Vents — Two screened vents on the inner side of the foot let air move and water escape, a feature carried over from the original jungle boot design.
• Full-Height Lacing — Black metal eyelets run the full length of the front, so you can lace snug at the ankle and adjust the fit up the shaft.
• Gusseted Tongue — The tongue is joined to the fabric shaft along its edges, which helps keep debris out of the lacing area.
• Deep-Lug Outsole — Thick, widely spaced tread blocks bite into mud and loose ground and shed packed dirt as you walk, with a defined heel for grip on descents.

Design And Build

Rothco builds this boot around the proven layout of the military original: a protective lower where the foot takes the most wear, and a lighter, reinforced fabric shaft above. The outsole carries the Rothco logo at the heel and a molded size marking with a width letter, such as 9R for size 9 regular. Choose the size you normally wear in a lace-up boot and plan for thicker boot socks if you will use them in the field.
