Features
- Carbon Steel Blade — 2.5-inch satin-finished high-carbon steel blade takes a razor edge and is easy to touch up in the field.
- Turkish Clip Point Profile — Slim clip-point geometry with a subtle hollow grind handles slicing, whittling, and general utility cutting with ease.
- El Baraka Artwork — Front handle is stamped with the traditional "El Baraka" (blessing) motif originally designed for the French Algerian market.
- Folded Steel Handle — Chrome-finished folded sheet-steel handle keeps the knife slim, rigid, and corrosion-resistant in the pocket.
- Slip-Joint Backspring — Strong slip-joint backspring biases the blade firmly open or closed with a positive half-stop at 90 degrees.
- Integrated Bail Loop — Built-in bail accepts a lanyard, paracord, or keyring for secure carry and quick deployment.
- Six-Part Construction — Minimalist build of blade, handle, backspring, bail, and two rivets means almost nothing to wear out or break.
- Slim Pocket Profile — 3.5-inch closed length and roughly 1.3 oz weight disappear in a front pocket or pack pouch.
- Made in France — Manufactured by MC Cognet in Thiers, France, using the same pattern the company has produced since 1929.

My third Douk Douk, first BarakaBought my first Douk Douk in 2015, a standard model from a surplus site. Carried it daily until I lost it fishing still bitter. Grabbed this Baraka version because I wanted the same thing but with the blessing engraving, figured it'd be identical functionally. Then I discovered it's also perfect for: my "dress" knife when I'm wearing slacks and a clip would show, international travel to places with stricter knife laws, as a gift for my father-in-law who appreciates things made the old way, and honestly just having a blade I don't have to think about sharpen it on a stone, wipe it down, done. Construction is solid same folded steel, same blade shape, same pinned construction that's lasted since 1929. This one's been my daily for eight months, opened countless Amazon packages, cut zip ties, sliced salami on hikes. The edge touches up in thirty seconds on a ceramic rod. The blessing engraving is a nice touch, doesn't affect function, makes it feel personal.
Proven design that just works
