The Ka-Bar Warthog is also known as the Heavy Duty Warthog as it is the right tool for all of your toughest outdoor tasks. With the included sheath, your Warthog can be at your side and ready for action no matter where your adventure takes you.

This Warthog was appropriately named (as in the A10 Warthog). It’s a tank of a knife and can take a lot of abuse. The craftsmanship and quality are second to none, and despite the fact that the price has considerably increased due to demand, it’s still well worth it and a lot of bang for the buck.

Get it. Great for batonning, chopping, slicing, self-defense, etc.. It’s going into my get home bag.

K-bar warthog

One heck of a knife! You can cut tent stakes with it then pound them in the ground with it. Splitting firewood (batoning) would be a snap! The thickness of the blade is unreal, and the handle is perfect. Great knife.

It's a hawg

Review byMariadelaluz Q.

Whoever named this thing sure got it right. This thing is weighty, sharp, thick, and mean. Chops like a hatchet, handles like a cleaver. The 1075 isn't my preference like 1095 is, but it's still beyond sufficient.

It's ugly as all getout, but good Lord does it do good work.

However, what I find lacking is the sheath. It's starting to come apart on me after a couple months of carry. I'm certain it's not real leather - feels more like plastic. I don't understand why the whole thing couldn't have been made out of the same leather they use for their normal sheaths - that would be far higher in quality.

Warthog does it all.
Review bygreg_mck
I bought the warthog at the same time I ordered an Ontario Rat-7. I watched several videos showing how the Rat-7 performed, and the warthog performed better or better at these same tasks. It has a well-designed handle that is very comfortable in hand and eliminates hand fatigue when used for extended periods. The large blade shape is unusual, but this blade works well for campsite and bushcrafting.

No joke knife!!!

Review byCetera O.

This thing is a beast. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet but I can tell it will handily do pretty much everything I need it to do. Feels really good in the hand. Not a huge fan of the sheath because it's a little awkward but far from a deal breaker. You won't find anything else this solid in this price range. Could have been a little sharper but it came sharp enough to use. Would buy again.

WARNING: WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Review byLeeandrew C.

I bought this knife because I wanted something big. I didn't expect it to change my life. Not only is this knife big, I used it to bridge a meter wide gap so I could drive my dually across a creek and then used it to leverage a birthing cow into the bed of truck. The hot female dairy owner was so grateful that she married me immediately. At my wedding, the choices of best man, the maid of honor, and the officiating pastafarian minister were all filled by the Ka-Bar Warthog. It was the dula for the birth of our first child, and we allowed it the honor of cutting the umbilical cord.
Some years later, while taking the big cabin exit at the Shawnee Bypass, it was sideswiped by a drunk driver in a Bronco II. Tough bastard held on for five days before it went home to knife Jesus and the knife lord in knife heaven.

Good camp knife.

Review byDanyel E.

The product came packaged well. The knife is a heavy duty, well made blade from a good quality steel. I'm not crazy about the sheath that comes with it, but the price point makes it okay. This particular K-Bar is made in Taiwan. I would rather see it from the U.S., but there are very good knives coming out of Taiwan these days. The blade is sharp from the factory. It is wide & of good thickness for camp chores, like cutting, splitting and feather sticking wood for a fire. This knife is a good choice for camp & outdoors, at a great price.

This is a beast of a knife! Heavy thick!

Review byShashana S.

It is not the best bush craft or best anything just a good all around knife! 1095 steel holds edge, in a self defense scenario it is a good slasher but would take a lot of strength to stab unless thrown with force. Basic camp knife oh yea!

my first ka-bar

Review byTearsa J.

paid a pretty penny for this, and this is my first ka bar knife. have to say i am impressed by the quality. on par with my cold steel knives. very similar. in fact made in tawain.
very heavy knife. heavy, heavy. will take used to throwing the knife for striking wood. need to strengthen the wrists, ha ha. blade coating is great. the handle is great. the sheath is the best i've gotten with a knife so far. i understand that high end knives get great sheaths.
this is a workhorse. all i need is a mora or cold steel whittling, shaving knife, and a kershaw or cold steel camp machete for bigger jobs. want to keep the weight down? this will not help you. want to have an awesome knife to do almost any big job? this one is a great option.

Great solid knife. Definitely a lot bigger than I though it would be.(that’s what she said)
Unfortunately the sheath it came with is complete trash. I now have to find a local custom shop to make a kydex for it.
I’m not sure who was behind the design of the design but they should be fired.

Unique well designed and made knife

Review byGeoffry Q.

Took it out of the box went and chopped about with it. A week went by then I went a made a little wood carving over two days. It’s such a versatile design and bigger in person. The “hook” on the butt of the handle is awesome for chopping. The blade comes nice and close to the handle so it’s very controllable. I cut up some salmon for dinner (store bought, I’m no survivalist) but it was fine even after all the wood work. The wide blade was actually quite useful to leverage with my off hand. Sheath is leather and cordura or something but it’s great and useable.

There’s an awesome video on youtube of a dude using this for all kinds of stuff. Check it out if you’re wondering. This is a great knife for the price and super unique and well thought out.

Update:
Chopped small tree with it, handles do rub and “hook” on handle bites when chopping with 2 or three finger grip. Still love it though. BUT KA-BAR PLEASE UPDATE IN D2 and with MICARTA HANDLE OPTIONS.
