This said it will hold 9 but by the time you get the mag to the gun the ninth one has popped out. They don't really fit good either I've actually had 2 miss fires using these mags. I won't buy more and I will return or give these away. Oh and you sometimes can not even get the ninth round in there even using a loader.

Extremely difficult to load 9 rds. When loaded, does not fit properly into the weapon; S&W M&P Shield 9mm. When removing the mag, often the ninth round will come out of the magazine in the mag well while the magazine is still being removed. Have tried multiple times to work the spring and loosed it up, but the issue still exists.

I skimped and bought one of these and the 12 rd version just to have extra mags on hand. If you want something that technically works, but aren’t particular about anything else, go ahead. If you’re concerned about things like mag fit and mag release, I’d save your money.
