It's the final evolution of the TL-122 series that goes all the way back to WWII, and the build quality on this one is noticeably better than my US-made Fulton MX-991/U "Moonbeam" the aluminum body feels thicker and the switch mechanism is tighter. Comes with the colored lens filters which is a nice touch. Takes 2 D-cell batteries and the angle head design clips right onto ALICE gear or a MOLLE strap with a little creativity. The OD green finish on mine was perfect, no scratches or wear marks... clearly unissued surplus. Only gripe is the incandescent bulb is pretty dim compared to modern lights (obviously), but that's the charm of these things imo. If you're into NATO milsurp gear or doing a French para impression this is a must-have.

    Colored lens filters included

Incandescent bulb is weak by modern standards

I grew up seeing these anglehead flashlights in every war movie and military show so when I found an authentic French army version for 12 bucks I had to grab one. Popped in two D cell batteries and it fired right up first try. The like new condition claim is accurate because mine looked barely used with clean contacts and a clear lens. The anglehead design is genius because you can clip it to your chest pocket or belt and the light points forward without you having to hold it which frees up both hands. The build quality is solid metal construction that feels like it could survive being dropped off a building. This is the exact same design as the American TL-122D that our military used so its cool to see the NATO standardization in action. For under 12 dollars this is a must have for any military surplus collector or anyone who wants a reliable no nonsense flashlight.

This is a real piece of gear, not a cheap copy. It's very bright and feels like it could survive anything. Pros:

Genuine army issue and built like a tank the angled head is useful for hands-free use.

Nice flashlight! The one I received was unissued and unopened still in its wrapper. Thinking about converting it to LED. I still have my USMC boot camp issued flashlight (moonbeam). The US issued flashlight has a ring thingamabob on the bottom. These French ones don't. I also have a Belgian issue and it's the exact same as this. Thank you Keep Shooting :)

Old school, tried and true throughout the past few decades.

Like its been stated before. The light is kinda weak by today's standards. Just have to convert to LED.

Pretty good flashlight, need to see about converting to LED though, light is weak by current standards.
