Description
Swedish Army Field Headlamp
This is a Swedish Army headlamp built for hands-free light during field work: reading a map, working on a vehicle, setting up camp after dark. A round metal lamp head rides on an adjustable strap harness, and a coiled cable runs back to a separate metal battery box that clips to your belt. Because the batteries sit at the waist, the weight stays off your head.
Features
- Pivoting Metal Lamp Head — The 2.38-inch lamp head tilts on its mount so you can aim the beam down at your hands or out ahead of you.
- Adjustable Beam — You can adjust the beam angle to put the light where the work is.
- Roughly 100-Foot Reach — The beam carries about 30 meters (around 100 feet), enough to light a work area or a stretch of trail.
- Halogen Bulb — It uses the original small halogen bulb, not an LED, so you get the warm light the lamp was issued with.
- Padded Strap Harness — Adjustable over-the-top and around-the-head straps fit a bare head and can also go over a helmet, hard hat or cap.
- Belt-Mount Battery Box — An olive drab metal case with leather belt tabs holds the batteries at your waist and connects to the lamp by a flexible cable.
- Three-Cell Battery Layout — Painted outlines inside the hinged case show where each of the three cells goes.
- Olive Drab Finish — The lamp and battery box are finished in OD green, the flat military olive used across Swedish field equipment.
Original Swedish Issue
This headlamp was made for the Swedish Army, not for the civilian outdoor market. It is all metal where it counts: the lamp housing and the hinged battery case, with leather tabs for the belt and fabric straps on the harness. It works as a practical work light and also suits collectors and reenactors putting together Cold War era Swedish kit.

Old school headlamp that actually worksThis is way better quality than the flimsy LED stuff Ive bought before, and it lights up a good area when your working outside. I clipped the battery pack to my belt loop when I was helping a friend fix his motorcycle and it stayed put the whole time. Its nice to have something simple and mechanical that doesnt need fancy charging cables or all that nonsense.

Best vintage headlamp for the price.I bought this for a camping trip and it is actually really cool. It is definitely old school since it uses D batteries, but it feels like it will never break. The swivel light is super handy when I am trying to set up my tent in the dark.

Old School TechnologyThe one I received was in used but good condition, been in storage for some time. I like it! Not an LED just old style bulbs. Ultralight hikers BEWARE this item has some weight because it uses 3 D cell batteries! :)

Great HeadlampReceived my headlamp. Used, but in great condition. Nothing broken, all parts functioned properly. I replaced the bulb with a 75 lumen, 1 watt led and it is amazing. Bulb cost a little more that the headlamp, but at this price, still a bargain.
