Very handy. The frame lock is easy to use, just one finger tip is all you need. Has the old school hole for your ring for a better grip. Nice weight. The handle fits my medium sized (average) hands well. Very sharp and holds an edge well. Good to go for everyday stuff. Update: It has become a pocket protector knife. The pocket clip is still sturdy, it does not wiggle out at all, and it can easily be switched around the handle to the opposite side. The hole in the blade is useful for ring carry, and the blade is thick enough that it is comfortable and sturdy for a light weight loop. I use it to quickly pull out the knife from a handbag, then slide it back in, ready for a quick grab if I need it again.

Good size and quality for everyday use 0 people found this helpful

Bought one of these and the larger Ranger version for my boyfriend. He is always misplacing and losing pocket knives, but these have been the perfect solution for him. He takes them to the hardware store, gardening, everywhere. The knives are very well made, and have not been affected by being lost in the washing machine (like his previous favorite pocket knife, which was unfortunately left behind in a pocket). The knives have held up well to all the use and they still open smoothly and are sharp. The price is great for a good quality pocket knife. My only complaint is that they don't come with a bottle opener on them like they used to. The bottle opener is the only reason I buy Gerber pocket knives, but it is no longer an option.

Solid and Sharp 0 people found this helpful

It’s a pocket knife. It’s not a boxcutter or screwdriver or any of the dozen other things you could get this for. It’s for the blade. This little baby stays razor sharp, cuts through cardboard and twine and tape with relative ease, and is an absolute beast of an opening mechanism, even compared to most Gerber blades. For the money, you’re going to have a hard time finding a more solid, functional, well made knife. I own multiple, they are all my everyday carry for different reasons.

Worth the price. 0 people found this helpful

I have always liked my Gerber lock back knives, especially for the value and utility. This one came out of the box sharp enough to cut my thumb just above the first finger. A few minutes with my Snap On sharpener and it is cutting paper without any problem. It is so lightweight and compact that it easily fits in my right front pocket and hardly feels like it is there. It will be a nice backup for my daily carry folder. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the way the clip is set. It takes a bit of effort to clip it to the bill of my baseball cap. It would be nice if the clip extended out a bit more. The handle is a very nice texture that is smooth but not slippery. For the price I can't think of a better daily use knife that is so lightweight and compact. This one is definitely a winner for me.
