Solid value

Very handy. The frame lock is easy to use, just one finger tip is all you need. Has the old school hole for your ring for a better grip. Nice weight. The handle fits my medium sized (average) hands well. Very sharp and holds an edge well. Good to go for everyday stuff. Update: It has become a pocket protector knife. The pocket clip is still sturdy, it does not wiggle out at all, and it can easily be switched around the handle to the opposite side. The hole in the blade is useful for ring carry, and the blade is thick enough that it is comfortable and sturdy for a light weight loop. I use it to quickly pull out the knife from a handbag, then slide it back in, ready for a quick grab if I need it again.

Good size and quality for everyday use

Bought one of these and the larger Ranger version for my boyfriend. He is always misplacing and losing pocket knives, but these have been the perfect solution for him. He takes them to the hardware store, gardening, everywhere. The knives are very well made, and have not been affected by being lost in the washing machine (like his previous favorite pocket knife, which was unfortunately left behind in a pocket). The knives have held up well to all the use and they still open smoothly and are sharp. The price is great for a good quality pocket knife. My only complaint is that they don't come with a bottle opener on them like they used to. The bottle opener is the only reason I buy Gerber pocket knives, but it is no longer an option.

Solid and Sharp
Review by Keepshooting Customer
It’s a pocket knife. It’s not a boxcutter or screwdriver or any of the dozen other things you could get this for. It’s for the blade. This little baby stays razor sharp, cuts through cardboard and twine and tape with relative ease, and is an absolute beast of an opening mechanism, even compared to most Gerber blades. For the money, you’re going to have a hard time finding a more solid, functional, well made knife. I own multiple, they are all my everyday carry for different reasons.

Worth the price.

I have always liked my Gerber lock back knives, especially for the value and utility. This one came out of the box sharp enough to cut my thumb just above the first finger. A few minutes with my Snap On sharpener and it is cutting paper without any problem. It is so lightweight and compact that it easily fits in my right front pocket and hardly feels like it is there. It will be a nice backup for my daily carry folder. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the way the clip is set. It takes a bit of effort to clip it to the bill of my baseball cap. It would be nice if the clip extended out a bit more. The handle is a very nice texture that is smooth but not slippery. For the price I can't think of a better daily use knife that is so lightweight and compact. This one is definitely a winner for me.

The perfect pocket knife. I used it to cut paper and it did a great job. The blad wasn't too sharp but the sharpening is easy.

A steal for a quality, easy-open Gerber folding pocket knife. This is a super compact knife for your wallet. I use it for office supply cuttting, for food, or opening blisterpacks or snack foods when on a long flight or road trip and have the peace of mind that if someone rams my arm into my back, the blade isn't as long as to make it an invitation to get cut. And this small size means you won't feel like you just waved a saw in your briefcase or jacket pocket and the clasp on it gets torn off, since you're only swinging a knife 4" long and that doesn't do as much physical damage. This one came in the smooth-glide easy-to-use form (all the Gerber ones I have), not a sticky horrid model I hate and wish would stick and get stuck in my pocket, like that one I've been trying to buy a replacement for in store after buying 3 from them. So I recommend that for first-timers and returners. The nylon carry sheath is fine for my tastes, since it's small. It doesn't come with it so just look on the Gerber page to get it, but for the nylon material and for my preferences, it's great. This blade doesn't come razor sharpened, but I just do that at the local CVS (fancy word for 'pharmacy', used as 'a store' in England I think) so I have that in reserve and that was the last action of any of my knives, so a week later or so, I'm still just fine with a Gerber knife that was cheap enough to put through hard abuse and I still enjoy waving around.

Awesome EDC, Gets The Job Done.
Review by Keepshooting Customer
Awesome for the $10 I spent. Opened with one flick of the thumb. Folded down smoothly, great lockup. Blade is straight, fits in my hands well. Only thing that would make it even better would be if they had this in coyote or desert tan. It’s already the best EDC knife for the money. 5 stars if there was an option for other colors

Nice Little Blade
Review by Keepshooting Customer
Nice quality knife that's very sharp. Good feel in the hand. Would be nice if the scales were textured or had some ridges. Still a good blade and nice to carry in a pocket for the $

Great little pocket knife
Review by Keepshooting Customer
This is a great little pocket knife. I've had it now for several months and have used it quite a bit. It holds its edge well but does need to be sharpened occasionally.
