Decent pocket knife
Review by Keepshooting Customer
Purchased to replace a worn out (read lost) replacement for an old Army survival knife. Good solid knife. No frills and as others have said it does seem small. Blade seems sturdy and knife has opened easily and is sharp. Decent lightweight EDC pocket knife. Not the biggest EDC but it's size is perfect for an "overshirt" if you are one of those with multiple sets of clothes you may need to have more than one.

Exactly what I needed!

The Gerber has a really good feel to it, and opens up to a great size. Exactly what I needed!

The original minimalist Gerber - Great value.
Review by Keepshooting Customer
My new favourite Gerber. Super lightweight, tiny but it feels like quality and usefulness in one package. Easy to open, decent EDC in my EDC knife rotation (between Spyderco Shuffle and Kershaw Blur/Blink) for price. Will keep you updated on it's wear. Thanks for reading, Blah.

I carry it every day!
Review by Keepshooting Customer
I am in a school police department. I needed a cheap but reliable pocket knife for work. The Gerber Gaurd is cheap but built well. The knife holds an edge very well and opens smoothly. I am very pleased with the Gerber Gaurd! It is not for delicate or small jobs, but this is my EDC knife! I use it every day. I also use it when I'm camping or fishing! Great price for a very useful tool! You will be pleased!

Small enough to keep with you, tough and sharp
Review by Keepshooting Customer
This knife is perfect for what I wanted. It is light enough to carry around every day, and when I mean light, it feels like nothing is in your pocket. I have big hands, and the only issue I have with this knife is it doesn't fit my hand, it's too small, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. It's small enough that it is almost difficult to grip, but it's the perfect size for the average adult, or teenager. It is also sharp, so it makes light work of the small tasks that need to be done. Overall I love this knife, it is a really great size and perfect for an everyday pocket knife.

My New EDC Knife!
Review by Keepshooting Customer
My previous EDC was the Gerber MPD2 (which I also bought from Amazon) but that was 2 years ago. I was going to purchase a similar knife but this came up in my suggestions so I tried it out and it was much more suitable for everyday carry (i.e. much smaller and the grip felt more secure). It's lightweight and has a strong point that is perfect for self defense or striking/opening boxes/plastic containers. For everyday carry it has two points and a nice size blade. The knife does seem like it could easily break but I have used it to crack nuts and pry stuff open so I don't think that will be an issue for long. Overall, this is a great knife and much more appropriate for EDC.

Wish Gerber Made It in U.S.!
Review by Keepshooting Customer
Gerber Knives (sans kitchen) are about the only pocket knives that I'll buy. These and Benchmade (high end version). But what irks me is that Gerber's manufacturing plant is located in Renesasa, Ecuador. There are many American companies who produce Gerber's wares. For example: SOG (Spartan & Flash). Yet Gerber outsources its product to countries with poverty wages and horrible working conditions for their workers? Gerber even advertises "Built with Pride in Ecuador". Shame on Gerber. Hopefully, you'll be reading this and do the right thing: manufacture your knives in the USA. God Bless You! - Nuts & Bolts, Chico, CA USA **** Rating Changed from 4 Stars to 5 Stars: Gerber Listened! The MK638 "American Stout" 3.0 model was exactly what was needed to compete with a very good brand that makes their pocket knives in the USA (S&B):

Stupid but great EDC
Review by Keepshooting Customer
For some unknown reason I've owned about 50 different versions of this thing over the years, all except 2 or 3 with the metal clip and all the time the blade has always been very sharp and usable out of the box and for about 30 bucks this knife lasts a lot longer than the 20+ bucks on most 'superior' knives on the market today. If your not afraid of holding your money in your own hands you won't go wrong with this. Avoid those 30.00 Gerbers and save yourself 5 dollars.

Good quality

I have owned several of these over the years and always like them. They are lightweight but sturdy and easy to carry.
