coulda been a keeper

in regards to the one i received, it was not too hard to open but the lock didn't engage all the way, so i did not have confidence that the blade would not close on my fingers. returned.

Perfect size and razor sharp
Review by Sharlyn U.
Absolutely love this knife. I’m a mechanic and use it every day to open parts packages. I lost the last one and replaced it with the same. The wave feature opens the knife as you remove it from your pocket. The blade holds an edge better than more expensive knives and it’s the perfect size. Highly recommended.

Great Design, poor blade
Review by Adriel W.
The design of the knife is well done, however it is somewhat bulky. The main issue is the knifes edge is very uneven. Will be sharpening for a while to get it even.

QUICK OPEN with the EMERSON technology
Review by Varian K.
This is the best bang for your buck. For the price. You can not go wrong with this. Make sure no one is standing behind you when you use the quick release feature. You have to make sure your pants or shorts are sturdy enough to hand the leverage. Other then that great buy. I will be buying another..

Sharp!
Review by Ruthie X.
This knife is sharp! So sharp I shaved the hair one my legs. Lol.
Not really fond of the “wave” opening feature. In high stress that entails fine motor movements that generally go out the window unless you train train train. I’d prefer assisted opening but this is a fairly solid folder for the price.

Stiff, not quite effective...
Review by Giuseppe L.
So, this knife got great reviews but it doesn't work like expected. A friend of mine has a knife that is much more expensive but designed the same way. He actually recommended this knife to me. When he pulls his out of his pocket it just flips right open. When you pull this knife out, the clasp holds on to the pocket a bit tight and it doesn't flip out easily or all the way. Maybe with time and use it will loosen up. In the meantime though, it isn't what I expected. The knife is sharp and solid made. I like the feel but I have other sharp and solid knives already. I bought this one for its quick and ready response. I still use it but it doesn't give me that pop I was expecting.

Almost perfect edc folding pocket knife.
Review by Annette L.
I'm not a huge fan of the new trend of putting a "seatbelt cutter on a folding knife simply because if you have a
partially serrated blade it's a redundant feature. I also can live without a glass breaker but I have no problem with
having one on a fighting knife, and that's just what this is, a great recreation of the original Ernest Emerson CQB
(close quarters battle) finger stud opening pocket knife! Out of the box it came very sharp with a surprisingly durable but fine Tanto point blade approximately 3 3\4" long the whole knife is about 8" long open and 41\4" inches long closed with a reversible pocket clip and3 extra screws for the pocket clip in the box! Few minutes on a wet stone and you have a superior fighting knife in your pocket! Great price and if you have to have a partially serrated blade,a windshield breaker and a seatbelt cutter? Just carry a second pocket knife!

One of my favorite "cheap" knives
Review by Brienne A.
I bought this because I really liked the first Emerson knife I bought and wanted to see what the budget version was like. It is my favorite knife to carry at work and probably my most fidgety. It was a little tight at first compared to most of my knives, but quickly started opening with ease without becoming loose at all. All the fun ways you can open a knife are done easily with this one, and it cuts well. The steel is lower quality, but it still holds well for what most people use a knife for. If I lost this one, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another... I can't even say that for some of my "higher quality" and more expensive knives. Just buy it and be happy with your purchase. I definitely have been.

Kershaw will contact your employer if you hurt their feelings.
Review by Marceline K.
So Kershaw offered a discount through my employer, They provided extensive LONG training material that after completing we were supposed to be able to get a discount. After completing the ridiculous amount of training provided I decided to place my order. Less than 1 day later I received an email stating that "The items you ordered are out of stock and your order was cancelled."
When I saw that my order had been cancelled I was bummed but understood.
Just out of curiosity I decided too look up some of the knives that I had ordered and found them for sale on the Kershaw website. To me this felt very dishonest, and seemed like bad business.
It made me especially angry that I had completed all of the required training and educational videos that kershaw had provided .
I messaged Kershaw directly to see if they would honor the discount promised , No dice.
I told them that I felt like this was extremely dishonest and a poor business practice. Kershaw then messaged my employer and tried to get me into trouble.
So here's my real advice: Buy Spyderco, much better knives made with actual quality steel that will last a lifetime.

be forewarned this is a single bevel knife
Review by Lakeya S.
Easy to open, fits well in my large hand, can flip both sides(lefty love). I always liked Tanto bladed knives and since this model is being discontinued, I figured now was the time to get. At first thought there must be some mistake as only one edge was beveled but upon reviewing description I saw I was in error. I will keep this knife and use it as a beater (I love my beater knives) just have to remember to sharpen the one edge at 16-17 degrees.

WTF??!
Review by Filemon V.
Loved this blade in the past. Yet the quality has failed over the year. I've seen a few reviews & wanted to see If the value was still there. Nope. The blade is very well made, handle, sharpness, etc is on point.

Yet the only failure portion is the thumb wheel to pop your knife. The screw is forever lose causing the system to fail. And if you need to open a sharp knife this is needed. Guess spending the full $300 for a Real Emerson is My Best bet. Thanks for thrle loss of Cash. ????????????????????????

A very cheap knife- Disappointing
Review by Keith N.
The first thing I noticed was the blade is only sharpened on one side! I have many other tanto folders, from CRKT to Benchmade and all have a nice even grind on both sides of the blade. This knife looks very cheap with a very rough grind that I have seen on $10 knives. Not impressed at all. I am shocked that this has the Kershaw name on it! Terrible.

Great knife.
Review by Carolin A.
I bought this knife, because out of all of my knives I've somehow not had one with the Emerson wave. I've not been disappointed in any way with this knife. The quality is great. There are no comfort issues that I've found. It opens as intended, assuming you have it against the edge of your pocket. It has enough space above the pocket to get a good grip, therefore it has never felt like I was going to accidentally launch it.

I would definitely say this knife is worth the amount it costs.

Rock Solid, Quick to Deploy
Review by Ceasar W.
Loving the Emerson wave on the back of the blade. With a bit of practice, pulling this knife from my pocket to open in one move is a kick. Right now it is mostly a parlor trick but good to know it works this way.

Good size pocket knife, the opening feature is really cool/handy. It is a good weight, fits my hand well and is easy enough to close. Sturdy, quality construction, it's a pocket knife that I will be carrying for the next several years.

Great knife, heavy and well made. This things a tank!
Review by Tomasita Y.
Had to return the first one because the blade would not unlock once opened without prying it with a screwdriver, the replacement one is perfect. Also the clip is impossibly tight, you will never quickly get it out of your pocket unless you take it off and bend it a bit, easy enough modification. Even with that being said, this knife is a total winner. Great bargain.

Drive by delivery
Review by Graci C.
This is a budget version of the actual Emerson knife - single sharpened edge, not a dual (V shaped) edge. It was left outside my open gate at night - 330 feet from my front porch where it should have been left.
