The Mechanix Wear ColdWork Base Layer is a thin, stretchy cold-weather glove for people who need their fingers working when the temperature drops. It is slim enough to wear as a liner under a heavier glove, and it has a water-repellent finish so it can also be worn on its own. Mechanix designed it for military, law enforcement, shooting sports, and maintenance and repair work, where bulky winter gloves cost too much dexterity.

• Stretch SoftShell Shell — A water-resistant stretch softshell, a flexible woven fabric that blocks wind better than knit fleece, keeps cold air from working its way in.
• Microfleece Lining — A thin brushed fleece layer on the inside adds warmth without the bulk that makes thick gloves clumsy.

• Machine Washable — The polyester, fleece and spandex construction can go through the washing machine, so cleaning is simple.

Fit, Fabric And Care

The glove is built from polyester, fleece and spandex, and the spandex gives it a close, second-skin fit that moves with your fingers. It is all black, in the color Mechanix calls Covert, with a tonal Mechanix logo on the back of the hand. Sizes run from Small to XX-Large, and the Mechanix sizing chart measures by finger length and palm width; if you fall between sizes, Mechanix recommends going down a size for a snug fit, which also helps when the glove is worn as a liner.
