Rothco 5-Piece Mess Kit

Compact Camp Cook Set

The Rothco 5-Piece Mess Kit gives one person what they need to cook, eat and drink at camp, packed into a single round bundle. It has a frying pan, a plate, a small pot with a lid, and a drinking cup. Campers, hunters, scouts and anyone putting together a bug-out bag can pack it without giving up much space.

Features

• Five Pieces — The kit includes a frying pan, a plate, a pot, a pot lid and a plastic cup.
• Folding Pan Handle — The frying pan's long metal handle pivots on a wing-nut hinge, so you can swing it out for cooking and fold it flat for storage.
• Clamshell Storage — The pan and plate close over each other like a clam, and the folded handle runs across the top to hold the pair together as one unit.
• Bail-Handle Pot — A wire bail handle, the hinged arc you see on camp kettles, lets you hang the pot over a fire or lift it off the heat.
• Fitted Lid With Knob — The flat aluminum lid sits inside the pot rim and has a blue plastic knob in the center for lifting.
• Aluminum Cookware — The pan, plate, pot and lid are aluminum, a light metal that heats quickly over a stove or coals.
• Graduated Plastic Cup — Molded measurement lines inside the blue cup let you measure water for drinks or dehydrated meals.
• Hook-End Cup Handle — The cup handle ends in a downturned hook, so it can hang from a pack strap or a pot rim.

Aluminum And Plastic Build

Rothco builds this kit from aluminum and plastic. The metal parts can go on the heat, and the cup stays light. The design follows the classic military mess kit, with a pan that has a folding handle and closes over a plate. Rothco has supplied military-style gear since 1953.
