Soviet M36 Helmet Replica

This is Mil-Tec's reproduction of the Russian M36, the 1936-pattern Red Army helmet known for its ventilation crest on the crown and its flared, swept-back brim. It is aimed at reenactors, collectors and anyone dressing an early Soviet impression who wants the correct silhouette without paying for an original. Mil-Tec builds it as a replica for display and living-history use, and it should not be treated as protective headgear.

Features

• M36 Shell Profile — The flared skirt and brim follow the outline of the original 1936 pattern, so the helmet reads correctly in photos and at events.
• Crown Ventilation Comb — A raised metal crest over the top of the dome copies the vent cover that sets the M36 apart from later Soviet helmets.
• OD Green Finish — The shell is painted olive drab (OD) green, the standard color for Red Army helmets of the period.
• Painted Red Star Insignia — A red outline star with hammer and sickle is painted on the front of the shell.
• Drawstring Cloth Liner — Khaki cotton panels gather at the crown with a cord, so you can tighten or loosen the fit over the top of your head.
• Faux Leather Sweatband — A dark gray band rings the inside of the liner where the helmet meets your forehead.
• Sprung Liner Band — A crimped metal spring around the liner rim holds it away from the shell, as on the original design.
• Adjustable Cotton Chin Strap — A tan cotton webbing strap with a metal slide buckle lets you set the length under the chin.

Liner And Construction

The interior copies the M36 layout: a cotton crown liner on a spring band, with a sweatband and riveted chin strap attachment points at the sides. Side rivets on the shell secure the liner assembly. Because the fit adjusts through the drawstring crown and the strap buckle, one helmet suits a range of head sizes for reenactment use or sits squarely on a display stand.
