As such, the company strives to meet the needs of their customers, whether through targeted sales or the utilization of customer feedback to improve the line.
The Streamlight TLR-1S tactical light is a compact, rail-mounted light designed to be used as an illumination aid during low-light shooting with a range of the world's most popular pistols. This innovative light utilizes a C4® LED that delivers a peak beam intensity of up to 12,000 candelas and 300 lumens. It is powered by two 3V CR123A lithium batteries, and boasts up to 2 1/2 hours of continuous use. With a range and brightness comparable to a xenon bulb, the C4® LED is said to be two to three times brighter than high-flux LEDs. Lighting is also aided by a unique parabolic reflector, which produces a concentrated beam for optimal peripheral illumination, giving you a complete view of your immediate surroundings. The light is manipulated by ambidextrous controls that provide for both momentary and steady on or off. Moreover, tapping the momentary switch twice simultaneously activates a strobe feature that is not included on other models.
These electronics are housed within an ergonomic case that measures 3.39 inches in length, 1.47 inches in width and 1.44 inches in height. It is constructed from a tough, impact-resistant polymer and includes a face cap that is constructed from 6000 Series machined aircraft aluminum with an anodized finish. It may also interest you to know that the TLR-1S is waterproof to one meter for up to 30 minutes and carries an operational temperature range between -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
As noted, the Streamlight TLR-1S tactical light is designed for use with a range of the world's most popular pistols. This is achieved through the inclusion of a range of interchangeable mounting keys that make this light compatible with:
- Beretta 92 Series/Px4 Storm
- Kel-Tec PF-9
- Kimber TLE/RL II
- Smith & Wesson M&P Series/99 Series
- Springfield 1911/XD Series
- Many more…

These are high quality, well made weapons lights that are as well made as some of the more expensive lights and as bright!
They mount securely under your pistol and light up the night clearly enough to allow you to make that critical decision to Shoot or Not Shoot!
With that kind of decision in the balance one can't afford a mistake due to poor lighting.
As well made and bright as my Surefire but only a 3rd the price
Overall excellent weapons light
I bought one of these for my handguns several years ago after buying a different brand for my rifle and paying 3 times as much.
At first I was unsure if I was going to like this light and unsure what quality to expect.
I'm happy to say that as soon as I received my light I was pleased and after installing batteries and turning it on I was even more pleased.
It fits under the barrel of all my guns well enough (I don't own any "sub compacts) but under my Springfield XD45 and similar hand guns it fits nicely.
The beam is very bright and focused and it is better on battery life than some of the more expensive light on the market.
Overall I have been quite pleased with the service this light has provided me, I have had mine now for approx 5 years and carried it many times when out late in the evening or after dark and it has yet to fail me.
The switch on the rear makes it easy to access so a wire and button are not needed for handgun use.
While I have a Surefire I bought previously to this one for use on my rifles I am sure this light would perform equally as well on a rifle or carbine as it does on my handgun.
Overall a quality light at a affordable price.
