Description

The Streamlight TLR-4 tactical laser is a compact, rail-mounted light/laser combination designed to be used as both an illumination aid for low-light shooting as well as a laser sighting device for use with a range of the world's most popular pistols. The innovative light, which boasts an overall lifespan of 50,000 hours, utilizes a C4® LED that delivers a peak beam intensity of up to 5,000 candelas and 110 lumens. It is powered by a single 3V CR2 lithium battery, and provides up to 1 1/2 hours of continuous use. With a range and brightness comparable to a xenon bulb, the C4® LED is said to be two to three times brighter than high-flux LEDs. Lighting is also aided by a unique parabolic reflector, which produces a concentrated beam for optimal peripheral illumination, giving you a complete view of your immediate surroundings. The light is manipulated by ambidextrous controls that provide for both momentary and steady on or off.

The powerful 660 nm micro laser is designed for long-range precision targeting and may either be used alone or in conjunction with the C4® LED light. When used alone, the laser may run for up to 11 hours of continuous use. Like the light, the laser offers ambidextrous controls (three-position mode selector), full point-of-aim adjustment and excellent sight retention.

These electronics are housed within an ergonomic case that measures 2.73 inches in total length. It is constructed from a tough, impact-resistant polymer and includes a face cap that is constructed from 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum with an anodized finish. It may also interest you to know that the TLR-4 is waterproof to one meter for up to 30 minutes and carries an operational temperature range between -10 degrees Fahrenheit to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

<span>Very disappointed with this product! Not the TLR-4 … the fact that there is no duty holster for the TLR-4. It should say this in the advertising of this light! I would have never purchased it!!! I wanted to use it on duty and I can’t because there is no duty holster for it! This was probably the most annoying purchase I’ve made.</span>

<span>You have to install a "E" clip at the end of the bolt to keep it locked in, the small E clip took that came with the kit is so worthless. Ended up using the needle nose plier for the task, and scratched the light housing a bit. Other than that it works fine so far. Love the laser.</span>

<span>Haven't run the batteries long enough to see how long they last, because I can't get the laser pointer to line up with the bore site pointer!! Still 2" lower than the center of the shot G43.<br>Now way will it ever make it to a center point laser sight. The flashlight should've been mounted on bottom and the pointer on top under rail. Bad design.</span>

<span>I took this to the range after mounting it to an M&P Shield 9ez handgun. The unit mounted easily enough to the handgun . However after attempting to sight in the laser at 7-10 yards, the laser would shut off and not come back on in between shots. Also, the laser would not hold a point of aim on the paper once the appropriate adjustments for windage and elevation were made. Perhaps this product is more suited for airsoft or other platforms that have no recoil. I have already processed my return back to KeepShooting. You would think for the price of $130 on an item that may mean the difference between life and death in a self-defense situation that I would have received a better product. I'm not interested in returning it for another unit I simply requested my money back. I don't have time to play games with something as serious as self-defense in this day and age. I spent the last 25 years of my life in law enforcement and a dependable product is something you would expect to receive after paying this kind of money. I'm very dissatisfied and I would not recommend that you purchase this product for a firearm.</span>

<span>The TLR-2 has a much brighter light than the TLR-4. So if you're using it in an open field environment to identify targets or for lighting objectives, the TLR-2 will be better. But in a tactical situation in close quarters/suburban areas, the TLR-4 actually is better from my experience. The lower brightness light doesn't feel too bright to the user (The TLR-2 light when reflected on bright walls in an enclosed area can be too bright) but can still momentarily blind your target. The laser makes faster target acquisition in these type of shooting environments as well. I ended up putting the TLR-2 on a rifle and used the TLR-4 on a pistol with good results. A green laser on the TLR-4 would be the icing on the cake.</span>
