does exactly what it shouldGot this for my bug-out bag and its basically the same canteen I remember from basic training. Holds a full quart, fits perfect in my old ALICE pouch. The kidney shape sits flat against your hip so it doesnt dig in when you're hiking. Took it on a 6-mile day hike last weekend and it was fine. Only thing is the plastic feels a little thinner than the ones from the 90s, but honestly it held up and didnt leak at all. The cap tether is a lifesaver, I always lose caps on other bottles. For the price you cant beat it.
