It leaks with cork in and rinse well there is some type of metal residue that is ashy inside

My daughter loves it unfortunately it leaks when the cork is in and doesn't come with a strap to attach item to a bad or anything. Also wash well there is some rust, and metal shaving residue inside.

The canteen itself is rather well made. Mine arrived in good condition, no dents or anything like that. The cork didn’t last long but that’s easy to replace. One downside is it doesn’t keep water cold for that long, but water doesn’t get too warm either. Worth the purchase in my opinion.

This is a genuine surplus military item. The cork smells like diesel however and likely needs replacing. The cork can be either plastic or natural cork material, there is a little rust from the time this has been stored on the cork plug.

High quality aluminum canteen. The felt cover didn't fit at first, it has to be wetted and stretched out like a beret. The hour of strenuous pulling is well worth it.
