This Mil-Tec reproduction recreates the green pith helmet associated with Vietnamese forces during the Vietnam War, complete with the red star badge on the front. It is made for reenactors, collectors filling out a period display, and anyone who needs an accurate costume piece. The helmet is a reproduction, not original-issue kit, and it carries no PPE certification, so it offers no ballistic or impact protection.

Features

• Plant-Pulp Pith Core — The shell is pith, a light, rigid material pressed from the plant pulp of Vietnamese elder, which is how this helmet style was traditionally made.

• Red Star Badge — A round red emblem with a raised gold star and gold wreath border sits on the front of the crown band.

Construction And Fit

Mil-Tec builds this helmet the traditional way, with a pith shell under a fitted cloth cover and a wide sloping brim that shades the face and neck. A cloth band circles the crown and carries the star badge. Fit comes from the height-adjustable headband inside and the buckled chin strap, which can be worn under the chin or rested across the front brim as shown. Treat it as a uniform and display item, since it is not rated as protective equipment.
