Walther P1 Rear Sight
This is the rear sight for the Walther P1, the alloy-frame service pistol issued to the West German Bundeswehr. It is the small steel block that sits in the dovetail at the back of the slide and gives you the notch you line up with the front post. This two-pack covers a spare for the bench or a replacement for a worn or damaged original, keeping an issued P1 shooting to point of aim.

Fit And Function
The P1 is the postwar aluminum-frame version of the Walther P38, chambered in 9x19mm and carried by the German armed forces for decades. The rear sight drifts into the dovetail at the back of the slide, so installation and windage zero are done with a brass punch or a sight pusher rather than tools unique to the pistol. If a note here disagrees with the photos, trust the photos: the parts shown are a squared steel block with a dovetail base and a central notch.

Fixed my old P1 right upMy P1 was missing the rear sight entirely. One of the two in the pack dropped in and the dovetail was snug, no filing. The other one had a burr on the bottom edge, had to stone it flat before it would seat. Kept the second as a spare since these are the kind of part that vanishes the second you set it on a bench. Bluing on both was worn but functional.

Genuine Walther fitment beats aftermarketBought these for my 1970s P1 to replace the worn original. They dropped right in with the factory notch and white dot, no filing needed unlike the RTG Parts version I tried before. The two-pack is perfect since I always seem to lose one during cleaning. Love the authenticity of the Carl Walther stamp.

Walther P1 rear sightThey have no idea what they are sending. You may get a R, L or 0 its a complete crap shoot. I specifically asked for a 0 and a R and got two L sights which I already have. Complete waste of time and money

Fits the P1 dovetail perfectlyThe rear sight on my P1 had gotten so worn you could barely make out the notch anymore and I was having a hard time getting a decent sight picture at the range. These are factory Carl Walther steel sights and they dropped right into the dovetail without any fitting which I was relieved about. I drifted it slightly to get the windage where I wanted it and now its back to shooting where I point it. Having the second one in the pack is nice because I keep a spare in my range bag just in case. Honestly for the price getting two original surplus sights is a pretty good deal. Packaging was simple but everything arrived intact and undamaged.
