The Yugo Mauser M48 double ammo pouch is a field issued item that was used with the Yugo M48 rifle. This is the double pouch which can hold twice the amount of ammunition on stripper clips as the single pouch. Included on the back of the double ammo pouch is a D-ring allowing you to hang the pouch on load bearing equipment.
Mine was definitely used and was smashed and needed to be re-formed into the correct shape and needed some leather reconditioner. Has some patina and turned out nice.
I bought 2 of the single pouches and they were new.
I may have gotten a lemon with my order, as when they arrived, they were in a much more worn out condition than the other reviews described. Mine was covered in gunk and didn't have it's on individual wrapping like the French pouches I ordered with it had. One of the seams was also broken, but that can be fixed myself. I will be able to use them, but only after I've done some TLC to them. Regardless it's still a nice piece of history.
Bought two of these. One was like new and the other worn but still in good shape. Made of heavy leather and stitching.
I received mine was in good shape, looks used needed a bit of cleaning but just as I wanted it. I like old things and bringing them back for more use or repurposing makes this old guy sleep a little better @ night. Old stuff is just cool
These are made for intermediate cartridges (100 rounds on 10 stripper clips), not so much the 8 x 57 type-rounds described above. I'm assuming they were intended to feed an SKS 7.62 x 39. The previous reviewers are correct that the pouch holds 30 rounds of 8 x 57 (or similar), but unfortunately there's a lot empty space/rattling around in there. The upside: 5.56 x 45 stripper clips will fit snugly.
I bought this and a single pouch. All arrived in very good condition. These pouches are functional and well built. Three stripper clips (15 rounds) of 8mm Mauser fit well in each pouch.
I needed another pair of these for a Partisan impression I've been putting together. Based on the pictures, I assumed I'd have to distress the pouch a bit to give it the appropriate patina. I was pleasantly surprised to find that, when it arrived, the pouch had clearly seen some use. It was oiled a nice dark brown and wonderfully broken in. The hardware is plenty sturdy and the stitching is excellent. You'd have to really try to wreck this thing. I am extremely pleased!
I use this with my M48A Yugo Mauser, which is what it's made for. Unsurprisingly, it fits 8mm rounds very well. It's a solidly-made pouch for a great pouch.
arrived in good condition, will go great with my rifle, will put it to good use very happy with purchase
