The NcStar TLZ12G is a laser bore sighter shaped like a 12 gauge shell. It loads into your shotgun's chamber and projects a laser dot from the nose, giving you a reference point that follows the bore. Bore sighting means roughly aligning your scope, red dot or sights with the barrel before you fire, so you need fewer shells to get on paper at the range. It suits anyone mounting new optics on a 12 gauge or checking zero after a scope has been knocked or remounted.

Using It Right

With the shotgun unloaded and pointed at a target or wall, chamber the sighter and adjust your optic or sights until the reticle sits on the laser dot. This gets you close. Final zero still has to be confirmed with live fire, because a laser travels in a straight line while a projectile drops over distance. Remove the sighter before loading any ammunition.
