Cartridge Bore Sighter
This NcStar laser bore sighter is shaped like a 7.62x39 cartridge and loads straight into the chamber. Once seated, it throws a red dot down the line of the bore, so you can get a new scope or red dot roughly aligned with the barrel before you fire a shot. That first rough alignment is called bore sighting. It means fewer rounds spent chasing your zero at the range, which is why hunters, competitive shooters and armorers keep one in the range bag for AK, SKS and Saiga rifles.

- 7.62x39 Chamber Fit — The body follows the shape of a 7.62x39 case, with a rim at the base, so it sits in the chamber the way a live round does and points where the bore points.
- Red Laser Dot — A 625 to 650nm red beam gives you a clear aiming reference to line your optic or iron sights up against.
- 15 to 100 Yard Range — The dot is rated for sighting at 15 to 100 yards, which covers indoor setup and a backyard or range target.
- Class IIIa Laser — Output is under 5mW, the US class for visible handheld lasers, so never point it at eyes, people or reflective surfaces.
- Aluminum Body — The housing is machined from aluminum in a blue finish, with "762" engraved on the case so you can tell it apart from other calibers in your kit.
- LR44 Button Cell Power — It runs on standard LR44 button cells, which are easy to find at most hardware and grocery stores.
- Lightweight Design — At about 1 oz (28 g), it adds nothing noticeable to a range bag or cleaning kit.
- AK, SKS and Saiga Compatible — It works with rifles chambered in 7.62x39, including AK-47, AKM, SKS and Saiga platforms.
Build and Compatibility
The sighter is a one-piece aluminum cartridge housing with the laser aperture at the nose and small screws set into the neck. Fit depends on caliber, not brand of rifle: if the chamber is cut for 7.62x39, this unit is made for it. Bore sighting gets you close, not finished. Confirm and fine-tune your zero with live fire before you rely on the rifle.

Got me on paper fast at the rangeTook this out to the range with my WASR-10 and it honestly saved me a box of ammo. You just drop it in the chamber like a regular round and the red dot shows up on your target so you can adjust your optics before firing a single shot. Had me on paper at 25 yards in like two minutes and I only needed a few rounds to fine tune after that. The dot was bright enough to see even in the afternoon sun at the outdoor range.

My second one bought my first in 2019Bought my first one when I got into AKs and realized how much I hated the "where did that go" game at 100 yards. Figured it'd be a niche tool, something I'd use occasionally. Already had a universal laser kit, didn't "need" a dedicated 7.62x39 sighter. Then I discovered they're also perfect for: my "loaner" to buddies who show up with unzeroed AKs and expect to hit steel, my truck bag since it fits in a small pouch, as a pre-range check when I haven't shot a rifle in months and want confidence, and honestly just having a backup since my first one lived in my range box and I got tired of moving it. Construction is solid I've had mine for 5 years, probably 50+ rifles through it, still functions like new. The laser hasn't drifted, still centers in the bore the same way every time. Mine's been rained on, dropped in mud, used as a chamber flag once when I forgot the real one. Still runs. The brass body hasn't worn, still chambers smoothly without binding.

Got me on paper at 100 yards first shotBought this for my Chinese SKS to zero a new scout scope setup. Chamber fit was TIGHT had to use the bolt to push it in and a cleaning rod to tap it out. Worried I was going to get it stuck. Once in, worked fine. Laser was centered, visible at 50 yards in my garage. Got me close enough that I was on paper at 25 yards, maybe 6 inches from center. Fine-tuned with live fire from there. Took off one star because the tight fit seems like a quality control issue my buddy's identical sighter drops right into his AK. SKS chambers vary I guess? Also the on/off switch is stiff, hard to operate with gloves.
