This is a 100 ft (30 m) hank of Atwood Rope 550 paracord in the Cavalry colorway, a black base woven through with olive green and tan. Paracord began as parachute suspension line and is now standard kit for campers, hunters, preppers and anyone who builds or repairs gear. Use it for shelter guy lines, lashing, bootlaces, bracelets, lanyards and knife handle wraps. One hank goes a long way in a pack or vehicle kit.

Construction And Core

The cord uses kernmantle construction: a woven outer sheath, the mantle, protects a load-bearing core of seven twisted strands, the kern. The sheath braid is tight and even, so the cord feeds cleanly through grommets and buckles and gives a consistent look for bracelets and handle wraps. Cut ends can be sealed with a lighter to keep the sheath from fraying.
