Certain brands are great and others should never be trusted. Just make sure you buy USA made as that’s what’s used by our armed forces. Otherwise, there’s a lot of china crap out there. Just buy quality and be happy. It should never snap or fail. The 550 rating isn’t b.s. it’s a max tensile strength which means the line can stretch before snapping. That said I never buy anything less than 7 strands as it’s way more flexible and versatile. 5 is pretty tight and I avoid it for its inability to handle extreme stress and flex. And I won’t even use cheap china paracord for tying down stuff as my buddy and I learned that hard way once. He lost a few beers over the side and was stuck trying to tie his tarp up in rough waters and salt water paracord snaps. Oops, lesson learned. So always use the best quality. There’s a few military surplus sites that will ship internationally so grab 100ft and a spool.

Great stuff. 100 ft. for 9$ I think it's great deal and good product. I don't think you can find it cheaper elsewhere. And the product quality itself looks really good. No question asked it's going to serve my needs for the survival backpack, but it can also come in handy at home for securing some loose curtains on a rod or for garden twine or tying down heavy items on my roof rack.
