Description

Located at the rear of the upper receiver adjacent the bolt carrier group, the AR-15 charging handle assembly consists of: the charging handle, the charging handle latch, a helical spring and a spring pin. The AR-15 charging handle assembly is an essential component to the operation of the rifle, as it is allows the shooter to retract the bolt and chamber a cartridge, among several other tasks. Though technically not secured within the rifle, the AR-15 charging handle assembly is held in place only when the lower receiver is secured to the upper receiver.
