The AR-15 hammer pin, as are all of our Keepshooting.com house brand spare and replacement parts for the AR-15 platform, is a brand new part produced in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that holds several foreign military contracts. As such, all parts are compatible with and interchangeable in any MIL-SPEC AR-15.
Located through the center of the lower receiver adjacent the hammer and hammer spring, the AR-15 hammer pin is a small roll pin designed to secure the positions of both the hammer and the hammer spring within the lower receiver. This small component is of utmost significance, as its inclusion allows for both of the aforementioned parts to contribute their functions to the firing sequence. Without the hammer pin, neither the hammer nor the hammer spring will function properly.
Spare and replacement parts are an important consideration when it comes to firearms. Like any machine, firearms rely on a series of parts to function properly – especially those components that may have an impact on the firing sequence. In general, if a part breaks or fails, a repair or replacement becomes immediately necessary – not only to keep a firearm functioning properly but also to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you.
It is also important to consider availability when discussing spare and replacement parts. At this time, Keepshooting.com is seeking to provide our customers with a wide selection of spare and replacement parts for the AR-15 platform. Several brand new parts from the Keepshooting.com house brand are now readily available on our website at an affordable price. If you have any need or desire for spare or replacement parts, now would be a good time to take advantage of this offering.

I bought a new M&P15, and on the first trip to the range I had a ton of problems with the hammer pin walking out of place. It turns out that it had the groove cut off center. There wasn't anything for the hammer to lock on to. This solved the problem much quicker than sending the whole rifle back to Smith&Wesson like they requested!
This pin appears to be of top quality. Perfect fit and a nice finish. It seems to resist "walking" or wiggling out of place better than some other pins. Probably due to the deeper grooves. I highly suggest these for replacement and back ups for your AR!
