AR-15 Pivot Pin Detent

The pivot pin detent is the small pin that holds your AR-15's front takedown pin in place. It sits in a channel at the front of the lower receiver, and its spring pushes it into the groove on the pivot pin so the pin stays put until you push it out to separate the upper and lower. Fit And Installation

The detent works with the pivot pin detent spring and the front pivot pin in a standard AR-15 lower receiver. The spring goes into the channel first and the detent follows, then you hold the detent compressed while the pivot pin slides past it. The spring is strong for the size of the parts, so work inside a clear plastic bag or use a pivot pin install tool to stop the detent flying across the room.
