AR-15 Bolt Ejector

The ejector is the small spring-loaded plunger in the face of an AR-15 bolt that pushes each spent case out of the ejection port after it is pulled from the chamber. When an ejector wears, chips or sticks, empties can drop weakly, hang in the action or cause a stovepipe. This United Defense AR15 Cartridge Ejector is a direct replacement part for shooters rebuilding a bolt, repairing a worn one, or keeping a spare in the parts kit.

Fit And Installation

The ejector goes into the bolt face on top of its spring and is held by a small roll pin driven through the side of the bolt, which rides against the machined flat. Replacing it means compressing the spring and drifting the roll pin, so a bolt vise block, punch set and some patience help. If you are not comfortable working on a bolt, have a gunsmith fit it and check function afterward.
