Austrian Compression Sack
Soft, bulky kit eats rucksack space fast. This Austrian Army compression sack solves that. It is a stuff sack with webbing straps around it that you cinch down to squeeze the contents into a smaller, firmer bundle. Load it with a sleeping bag or insulated layers, close the drawstring end, pull the straps tight, and the result packs inside a ruck or straps onto the outside of one.

- Nylon Construction — The body is nylon, a light synthetic fabric that holds up to being stuffed, compressed and hauled around.
- OD Green Finish — The sack and its straps are olive drab (OD green), the standard muted field color that matches most military packs and kit.
- Drawstring Closure — One end gathers shut on a drawcord, so loading and emptying the sack takes seconds.
- Three Girth Straps — Three webbing straps wrap around the circumference and squeeze the load down evenly along its length.
- Lengthwise Compression Strap — A fourth strap runs end to end and crosses the girth straps, so you can shorten the bundle as well as narrow it.
- Ladder-Lock Buckles — Flat slide buckles tighten when you pull the free end of the strap and release when you lift the tab.
- Cylindrical Packed Shape — When compressed, the sack forms a firm roll that sits neatly in the bottom of a rucksack or under a pack lid.

Great piece of kiti used this sack to pack up my m1949 mountain sleeping bag when i go camping and it made it so much easier to pack because it shrank it down so that my large alice could hold more than just the sleeping bag
